Well, having just come back from two weeks down near Bodmin I only saw three TVRs in all that time. One green griff going through Bodmin, one T350C on the way home but also a Taimar in the house at the entry of one of the superb 'tourist' gardens down there (won't say which 'cos it would effectively give the guys address).

So where are all the TVRs in the wet county?

We are heading down that way in our Tamora in the middle of September.

Any hints and tips on places to stay, things to do and good roads to drive ?

Cheers,
Nick

The coastal road between Padstow and Bude......check out my picture.....

The best advice is just stay off main roads...no police and the pubs are better :-)

definitely stay off the main roads. In the summer you won't get out of 2nd gear on the tourist routes

I like the run between St Ives, round by Portreath, Perranporth, up through Newquay, then back on the coast road up past Watergate Bay to Padstow.

There is a Really quiet road round the perimiter of St Eval airfield, well it was when I was there last year
I found it quite interesting there as my Grandfather was one of the groundcrew on Liberators there during the war.

A nice idea woud be to try a couple of early morning or evening runs, during school holidays the roads can become saturated but they are well worth exploring.

Funnily enough I sometimes have this strange urge to do Cornwall on a day trip

I did Basildon to Newquay last year in the Supra in 4 hrs 40 IIRC.

That included a half hour jam at M25/M4 junction.

We had rented a cottage so can't necessarily recommend other places to stay (wouldn't necessarily recommend the cottage either especially if you go down in a TVR....It was at the end of a half mile badly pot-holed muddy track!

Places to visit....depend what you like but Eden Project is a must as are Lost Gardens of Heligan and Trebah. Padstow horribly crowded but nice place. Main towns are far too touristy. Houses - Llanhydrock and Pencarrow worth a visit.

Roads - agree with some of the other posts although in the Saab with wife, daughter and loads of things in the back the 'good driving roads' weren't the most important thing on this holiday :-(
