As some of you know I've been touring Scotland for two weeks in my recently purchased TVR S3. So here's a write up.

We covered a total of 2211 miles. In that time the car performed perfectly, with nothing going wrong at all. Ok, to be honest it did develop a 'double-speed' indicator problem which turned out to be from an incorrect bulb (5W not 21W) being fitted in one of the rear indicators - it should never have worked in the first place so I don't count that as a fault

The Wife almost started to like the car. Almost. We easily managed luggage for two weeks for both of us, several bottles of whisky and the roof panels all in the boot.

Scotland is a wonderful county to drive in. The roads are very empty even in the tourist areas. There are loads of great windy, well surfaced A and B roads and some 'interesting' single carriage roads up round the northwest and western isles that I'd recommend everyone should drive once.

There have been a few postings recently suggesting exact roads that are worth travelling on so I'm not going to add any more here. You'll find them yourself by just going and seeing where you turn up. Little traffic, few speed cameras and no speed humps! That last one is such a relief for an S driver and I'm fed up with the local roads round where I live, supermarket car parks, etc etc. We made it up to John O'groats, right round the northwest coast and over to Skye.

The weather was extremely variable and we gave up on the weather forecast very early on as it seemed to be referring to a different Scotland altogether We managed some top-down motoring every day, although the top always seemed to be on when I was taking the photos. It generally chucked it down every night and so I was impressed that the car was nice and dry inside.

TVR moments.
1. Spotted a T350 on the north coastal road near John O'Groats.
2. Got spotted by Nicholasblair near Perth and saw the post on-line - 'Bluish' indeed - that's Cobolt Blue!
3. Young teenager near Spean Bridge yelling NICE CAR and waving as we went past.
4. Having a mini convoy with 'SHY GUY', a car I didn't recognise on the M1 on the way home. Fantastic car- what is it?
5. Blasting down lots of fantastic windy coastal roads, top down, sun shining and no traffic.
6. Being fired on with live flies thought the air vents ;O
7. Wife calling me sad on every occasion I took a photo of the car.
8. Checking Pistonheads on my P800 via GPRS. OK, perhaps that is a bit sad. Works great though!

(Edited to change Speak to Spean. A speaking bridge? Perhaps all that freash air is getting to me ...)

'7. Wife calling me sad on every occasion I took a photo of the car.'

glad you had a good time. i'm sure you'll keep a "guid" memory of some "real" country.

there are some great roads up here. could suggest a few more "side" roads for entertainment.
