Just wondering if anybody here has a used TVR from Brandon who used to have the Scottish franchise. If so, I would be very interested to hear what sort of warranty you got with your car - which company underwrites it and what it covers? Or more importantly, what it doesn't cover.

I am having a few problems just now and it might to have some background info on my side.

Thanks in advance.

Ascender,

Bought my S3 from them last April and got a full years warranty from them through a firm called Scotsure. The car has been back to Brandon's for new manifold gaskets, (which involved removing the heads and replacing the bolts that snapped off whilst removing the manifolds ) a new fuel pump and a general sort out coz it wasn't running quite right after the heads off episode. I got a courtesy car each time the car was in their workshop and haven't had to pay a single penny. Mind you - I did deliver a couple of cases of lager to the guys in the workshop for sorting the car out.
There are probably other people that can give not so glowing reports but I have had no trouble with them at all. Hope this helps

Cheers

Hi Ascender,

their extended warranty is through Scotsure - this means that
you don't have to go to Brandons to get any warranty work
carried out (Which is fortunate, since they got rid of all their
mechanics when they got rid of the TVR franchise)
My Scotsure warranty covers electrical & mechanical breakages
up to an individual claim limit of £3000 & a yearly limit of £10,000
Note that they will try & weasel out of anything that isn't an
actual breakage (e.g. something coming loose)
I would suggest you phone up Noel Flannery at V8 Sports &
Classics (07980 652447) as he has experience of doing
warranty work for them & also has many years of TVR experience

cheers,
Craig

One year with Scotsure. Got the car August 2000, back into then Nov 2000 for 1 whole month with warranty work. Gat a courtesy car but certainly wasn't a TVR.
