are there any good alternatives to Warranty Holdings, my diff has just gone and they told the garage that it's fair wear and tear....the sodding thing hasn't even been taken out yet! I'm getting pissed off with them trying to duck out of a fair claim with this excuse, the garage have managed to make them realise that it at least deserves an inspection before making a descision

Darren, it's always worth getting a warranty, even from WH, there are different levels of cover at abround £300/400, you can pay in installments....there should be a link on this site or in Sprint

Thanks I'll have a scout about. I take it they do try and get away without paying up for things? Have you used your warranty much in the past?

I got my Chimaera in April and so far have had the following under warranty.
Fan Belt!?!?!
Alarm System
Starter Motor
Radiator
Blimey, makes the car sound like a dog doesn't it!?!?!? It isn't though, it's bl@@dy brilliant. Dread to think how much that little lot would have cost me.
BTW I think the garage has a lot to do with if the claim is accepted or not as I understand it sometimes they really have to push WH for action.

Mark, that's the secret, if you find a dealer or independant who can argue with them and stand their ground you will be ok, I've had a load of warrenty work on mine and would be stuffed without it Team Pro are very good at this btw

Apache. I think you have no chance on this one. benno's went on his S reg Cerbie, they stripped it(which involved 3hours labour at bens expense) and even then said "wear and tear" even though the car was only 2 years old. he threatened to sue them and eventually they paid up most of it. Your old nag (only kidding!!) is ten years old, and that will be their excuse. good luck though.
trade the old dog in and get a Tamora!!!

I got my Chimaera 450 (W Reg) last June with a WH Warranty and have used them twice without any problems.

First time was after breaking down in the South of France, got it repaired at the TVR dealer near Cannes (GBP 450 for new coil and some electronic ignition part). I paid for it up front, then contacted WH on return and they paid up without any questions in about 2 weeks for the full amount.

Second time was just before Xmas, I'd been having problems with my wipers and eventually took it to Castle TVR - they were extremely helpful and replaced the whole mechanism under warranty, no questions.

Incidentally does anyone know how much it is to extend it for another year/two?

All,

I have the RAC warranty and it is very good (So far!) it was supplied by Brooklands TVR (Exeter) and covers everything you can think of that would go wrong.

I have used it to date on some minor things and Brooklands deal with it all so no hassle from my end.
