Tuscan Paintwork...can I avoid a re-spray?? 3M worth it?
Discussion
My Tuscan needs the paint looking at (Antique turquoise BTW) - whats there is in great nick but it does have some 'battle scars'
There are about 10 sizable chips on various parts of the car (fingernail size*), the bonnet would benefit from a respray (although its actually not bad) and where the roof goes in it's very chipped.
Can anyone recommend a paint shop in Hants area...I was considering...
http://www.plansmotorsport.com/ as I know about their work from my VX220 days.
What do you reckon this is going to cost me?
I was hoping ot be able to get the paintwork looking good and still have enough for some paint protector, 3M style stuff for key area's - where roof locks in, front bonnet etc. Is this stuff worth it? Can it only be applied to new paint?
Before I bought the car the previous owner said he'd had a quote for £300 (I already have the paint)....that would be great but me-thinks a little optimistic.
(*paint chips are fingernail size, not the car....)

2 years ago I had the roof done and hockey sticks/pillars and rear window frame by C&S coachworks for £300 (good job too), APMs chosen sprayer, their details can be found on our links page here http://www.tvrcc-hants.co.uk/links.asp
I dont think theres any other option than a spray job. I wouldnt bother with touch up strips or armorfend either, for the cost of it and the huge lines its cheaper to get a respray every now and then IMO.

Depending on how good you are with touchup paint and wet & dry, an excellent guide here:

It takes a lot of balls to take a sheet of wet & dry to your paintwork but if you take your time, the results you can achieve are excellent.
