General Tyre question
Discussion
Just a thought on Tyres for TVR , I remember with my Chimaera scratching around the UK for stocks of the Bridgestone factory OE ZR15's for the fronts and when I tried to get the T350 Eagles, they were like hens teeth as well, so I went in the end for some BF Goodrich. I think they have just been bought by Michelin and have good stocks.

Hi All
I was looking at my tyres (not on the tvr) earlier the rears are still over 2ml so still legal. I did notice though that there is cracking on the tyre wall. Do they need replacing if there are cracks?
thanks
Would have thought you'd want to replace anyway if they're near 2mm.I was looking at my tyres (not on the tvr) earlier the rears are still over 2ml so still legal. I did notice though that there is cracking on the tyre wall. Do they need replacing if there are cracks?
thanks

Conversely the graph says to me if all councils spent money on proper tarmac and had no concrete sections then the braking for cars with just over 2mm of tread on tarmac would be able to stop as quickly as cars with nearly new tyres on concrete
. I wonder if this is also applicable to that extra 'grippy' concrete they lay on the approach to junctions now

Blimey. It really reduces. I now have two falken 452s on the back with 7ml
May as well be bald with crap like that on it.
Do you really have that low an opinion of Falkens then Bomber, I know you are the tyre trade so I'd be interested in your response as I run 452's on the Cerb and personally I think that are pretty good (only used them on the road so can't comment on track use)HarryW said:

t.I was a guest of Cooper Tyres for the last British A1 British Grand Prix and the European marketing chief happily told us that Cooper told not to make the tyre too technical as they wanted it to be a real driver's championship - you do the math.
Going back to your question, do you heat them up?
Do they go off?
Do you buy them because they are cheap?
