Been out playing in my car today & parked in Hale Village to go for a coffee. I parked next to an AMV8 in black which was absolutely bounce & 2 cars down was a Ferrari 599 in Red which was cloud9 I drooled over both & then went for a coffee.
When I came out there were 4 young lads stood around my car taking pics with their camera phones & totally ignoring the exotica around! I love my car & know it looks fantastic but it shows you how "common" Ferrari's & Astons' are in those parts compared to TVR's.

I can't agree with you more on that, compared to Tiv's in numbers they are 10 a penny, looks wise TVR can beat most if not all exotics.

To my Tuscan 2 in dark blue (a very very fast colour) I've three times had "that's the most beautiful car I've ever seen" from strangers on the street.

And every now and then, I take a glance at it - and they're absolutely right.

I was out giving the car a "test run" the other weekend in a large local industrial park thats very close to my house (just fixed it and was only a short walk home to arrange a tow if it conked out on me)

there were a handful of pedestrians around and I thought I was getting several wr signals which I just ignored but turns out I was getting the thumbs up and a wave from several people!! from kids to an old boy out walking the dog!

what do you lot do if someone gives you a grin and the thumbs up? I must admit Ima bit of a show-off sometimes and will beep or blip the throttle. getmecoat

Unfortunately not i've accepted an offer today weeping I will be back though I will keep an eye on him & maybe buy him back one day. Unfortunately with a baby on the way & a house move imminent I couldn't afford the balloon payment in May & as such someone has got a great deal as I was determined not to send him back to be auctioned off & be bought & destroyed by some chav!
I've deferred collection until next weekend so I can go for a couple of driving this week & say goodbye frown

I will be back & in the meantime i'll still be on here staying in touch.

I''ll make sure the new owner stays in touch on here & lets me know he's ok.

Stop it nono Just had a phone call he's collecting it Thurs night weeping Not sure i'll be able to watch as he driving it away. Missus thinks i'm mad as it's "only a car" is it just me or does anyone else feel like this when saying goodbye to a car?
This is worse as in the past the pain has been lessened by the impending arrival of another better beauty but this time i'm confined to a Lexus Diesel for a while yikes

i had the same in Matlock one sunny afternoon, i walked back to the cerb and found a family looking at it

as i got closer and pressed the key fob so the alarm dissabled the chap asked "is this yours?" and when i said yes he looked me in the eye and said "your'e a very lucky man" and walked away.

i know its daft but it made me think what a blessed life i have to be able to have a car like this to play in at the weekends...

do you think we get complacent and over familiar with these cars and underestimate what a dream car tvr's really are to many people?

the irony is that if a lot of these "family men" didnt get suckered into having the latest voyager/zafira/van with windows and got a slightly cheaper/older 4 door saloon as a sensible car they could probably have something special for the weekends.

my 2001 pug 406 cost me £2k a year ago, costs so little to run its silly, has more safty features and airbags than I can shake a stick at, and has enough space to take a family of four on a camping trip.

New-ish zafira or voyager will set you back the wrong end of £18k and thats that will be a "middle of the road" spec one too. more than enough for a nice tiv, 6 year old Passat and probably some change too!

I blame those little nothern kids on the vauxhall adverts! smile

ETA Im sure it has nothing to do with money in a lot of cases though, more a case of "the wife wont let me" smile

Saw two ferrari's today on our cycle ride locally , not one Tvr , also one of the ferrari's went past us twice and sounded crap compared to any tiv , I'm biased though I suppose !

Had mine for a week, took it up to my mates shop to show it to him. Ended up with a bunch of teens with there camera phones out looking at it and a guy in a BMW M Coupe breaking his kneck looking at it when he came out the junction beside where it was parked.

I love the looks but obviously other people like it more, lol!

I've told this one before but its still funny.
I drove past a group of customised Opals and VW etc in a town in Northern Germany.
A minute later found myself surrounded by them all smiling and waving, Phone cameras hanging out of windows.
Anyway they then sped off ahead of me and took a tight right at a junction. Unfortunately the last in the line only just got ahead of me, slammed his brakes on but didnt make the corner and stuffed his Corsa into the junction island. silly
Didnt do his steering much good. laugh
Question is,
Should I feel bad that I laught ??? confused

I've spent a bit of time in France in my Tuscan 2 with the wiff.
And we've noted a very unique expression upon the faces of our euro-neighbours as they watch us pass by - which we call "Wheh?!"
Next time you're barreling through a small French village, CCC's popping and banging, just look out for the look of "wheh?", and you'll know what I'm talking about.
