I've searched and searched for the thread but cant find it anywhere... so sorry for this.

There was a post a while ago about a leather restoration kit (not a dye I dont think) that was great, there were some before and after pictures on the suppliers website which showed great results.

Anyone used them? got a link to buy some? just sorting some projects for the spring..

which brings me onto carpet dye,

Shoe dye / suede dye was suggested a while back but I think I want to go for something designed specifically for carpets, there was a link http://www.leathermagicuk.com/ which now appears dead.

Any other recommended products? did google for stuff and got about a million different things to choose from!!!

Thanks

Dave

I used a leather repair/restore last year on my mk1 golf cabby, fantastic stuff from Frost.co.uk, did a real good job, not sure if they do the carpet dye but definately worth a look.

me tooooooo

Was thinking about running a test piece from the boot or foot well and washing through the washing machine with a clothes dye on a cold wash, I'm told this works.

If I do it and its succesful Ill let you know, not sure I want to rip out the full interior for this though.

I definitly dont want to get involved in removing the carpet, got to be in-situ or not at all for me.

Dont have the time or patience (or skill) to get involoved in removing all the carpet.

I'm doing the same for my chim, best place to cut a sample of leather is underneath the front of the seat where the leather is attached. Also means that it's a clean sample from there.
