Occasionally I've had that happen to me and it drives me mad. I might want the TVR forum's opinion on the GT3, not the porsche forum's opinion on it.....

Big Al you bad boy !. TVR related no, but as BD is an RO and is thinking of defecting to the dark side we need an opportunity to disuade him. I've only met BD once (at Le Mans) in 2005, and he still owes me 50 quid, but clearly he is a man who needs spiritual guidance that can only be given by God's chosen in the TVR forums.

Corin is a big boy and I have every confidence he may even persuade a few of them, over to our dark side. smile

In brief it stays cos it ain’t TVR related. smile

BTW I've corrected your statement above. smile

As far as I know Corin is still the RO of Devon region of the TVRCC. However he is no longer a committee member.

Don't know either BD or Big Al but the thread move seems a bit OTT, there are countless discussions in the TVR forums where TVR owners contemplate a shift to other marques, so what! no-one shuts those threads down. BD may have previous, been a bit naughty at times however,as Pietro states he is still a R.O. and may continue to be so with good effect.
Our own EMTVRCC R.O. drives a porker, does a bloody good job for the region, is a bloody good bloke and we all appreciate the work that being a R.O. entails.
Why the need to stifle free speech, there may be lots of different opinions on his views but surely PH members will form their own opinions especially those of us who continue to run TVRs.

Well said Yellabelly. If it was BD's intention to gain a view from the TVR side, then it was TVR related.

I've lost count of the number of times I've opened a 4-5 page thread where the OP asks a genuine and reasonable TVR related question, only to see that by the 2nd or 3rd post down it has degraded into a very un-TVR related slagging off session... (and I'm not talking about the banter between say... The Griffith guys and the Chimp Camp wink )

All that happens is that you give up by the time you get half way down the page and go read something else..... But... these pages don't get locked/moved.

There was a thread a month or so ago where someone described their car and asked for people's opinions on it's value as the OP wasn't sure. This post was canned and the reason given was that the OP should try his luck in the classifieds. Yet a few weeks later virtually identical post by someone else has been left untouched!?!?

Continuity ? Fairness ? Transparency ?

IMHO that's an unfair generalisation.

Continuity? There are only primarily four moderators on the TVR forums. So consistency seems OK on that front.

Fairness? Explain please. However if you mean consistency that can cause a problem, We do all try to deal with threads in the same manner, riots will be squashed, adverts (even veiled how much is my car worth. rolleyes) WILL be deleted on sight. If PH'ers stuck to the rules of posting we would not need to intervene.

Transparency? sorry don't understand you question explain please.

BTW how many threads/posts do you read on a daily basis?

Me probably on a busy PH day 500+ish across all the forums, so if you have noticed that I have been missing in my duties I apologise, as I'm probably cleaning up a thread or issue on another forum.

One of my failing and I have many, smile is that I do speed read some of the posts if someone is asking about driving a Tuscan over in the Porsche forum I'll move it to the Tuscan forum, that's were he's going to get the answers he needs and not a piss take from other owners. That would be the same vice-versa hence me moving this thread.

Again just for the record "NONE OF THE MODERATORS ARE PAID" we volunteer to do what seems a thankless task at times, we do wonder at times why we bother. rolleyes

Still you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Oh and please feel free to drop Paul Garlick a mail about any problems or issues you may have about the way the forums or the site is moderated. smile

So Corin,

Sorry for the move mate if it was not what you originally wanted, but it does look like the thread is doing well over there. As I said on my original post on this thread, if you want it moved back just shout "it really is a simple as that"

And secondly forgive me if I was incorrect in stating that you are "now not" an RO for the TVRCC.

Maybe this is true, and I certainly wasn't aware that Mods were Unpaid.. I apologise. smile

I guess that with the increase in PH popularity Mod activity greater than it used to be. The two threads I was refering to are below. Now there maybe reasons why one thread was locked and not the other but this is why I said Continuity ? Fairness ? Transparency ?

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

If one is banned for being an ad, so should have the other (Continuity and fairness).
Sometimes threads are locked or deleted with no explaination, so people get frustrated as they don't know what's going on or why it's happened (Transparency).

IMHO it was a veiled ad and I would have deleted it. When an ad is deleted the originator usually gets an e-mail explaining the reason for deletion, I have know instances when this email ended up in the originators spam folder.

Sorry I missed that one I was on vacation in South Africa during January and didn't have internet access, had I been on line believe me it would have been deleted. I'll have a word with my fellow moderators and chastise them accordingly. smile

We do try but I'm certain we don't read all the posts, as we don't have the time.

Do feel free to bring this type of post to our attention, every post has a report button we do need your help the sites expanding every day.
