There was a bit in some business glossy I picked up last week about them signing a deal with some aftermarket outfit, can't remember the details. Someone is still raking over the embers at least.

Perhaps if they do the first new model should be the Phoenix. Not very likely though, not after this amount of time.

Let's say goodbye with a smile, dear,
Just for a while, dear, we must part.
Don't let the parting upset you,
I'll not forget you, sweetheart.
We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day.
Keep smiling through, just like you always do,
'Til the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.

So will you please say hello to the folks that I know,
Tell them I won't be long.
They'll be happy to know that as you saw me go,
I was singing this song.

After the rain comes the rainbow,
You'll see the rain go, never fear,
We two can wait for tomorrow,
Goodbye to sorrow, my dear.

WE'LL MEET AGAIN

as sung by Vera Lynn

I spoke to a US dealership that was expecting to take delivery of new TVRs within next 12 months. A $5000 deposit would guarantee me one of the first ones they receive....I decided against taking him up on the offer.

Reminds me of Douglas Adams' Hitchiker... "The statistical likelihood is that other civilizations will arise. There will one day be lemon soaked paper napkins. Till then, there will be a short delay."

1) It wasn't a great price it was nominal considering that he got most of it back as the main party to be paid out.
2) Probably to sell the name but also minor spin offs with spares etc.

Because he's a cunningly astute business genius with a long term strategy that is unfolding exactly as planned, but is yet obscured to us mere mortals. Or he's an idiot. Pick one.

Was wondering if it wasn't just best for TVR to die with dignity, but perhaps if it gets restarted by a Russian and made in Italy it'll find its way back to these shores after the next bankruptcy?

Perhaps all TVR owners could purchase the name and moulds etc like the Liverpool supporters trying to buy their club? hehe

Even if cars built in Italy (or wherever) start being produced with "TVR" on the bonnet, they won't be a TVR any more than the Veyron is a proper Bugatti. Or a re-badged Rover is an MG.

TVR is gone.

He may actually be both - depending on your perspective. He probably thinks the first, pretty much everyone else the second.

If they continue to keep their legend alive, then yes, in my view. It's our job to make sure TVR is never forgotten, and then one day, hopefully, someone will come and ressurect the brand, like they did with Invicta.

And remember NTBs dad could easily buy TVR from Nik if he remortgages his house or sells his stamp collection... hehe
