How do I get a fag burn off my bonnett?
Discussion
Gutted... One of the local jealous pikey scallies must have flicked their lit fag onto the bonnett of my light blue Cerbera. It left a brown burn mark like you might see on a pub toilet seat.
Does anyone know how to get the brown mark off, without wrecking my paint work? It's quite an unusual pearlescent light blue; might be called ice blue?
Does anyone know a specific product I can use?
Many thanks for any advice...
Joel.
PS I don't even smoke! (fags)

Some jerk did this to our Chimaera. The (lit) fag-end stuck in one of the bonnet vents and burned down for an inch leaving the kind of mark you describe in the V of the opening.
Happened in Windsor in the wife's company's car park! Unfortunately the rail station was right next to it and we reckon some tw*t flicked their butt right off the platform onto the car.
I'm afraid there is no proper cure other than a respray.
Ours is about to go for its first respray at five years old and is really in need of it.
Whilst waiting for the job to be done I used a coloured wax polish to make the dings, light scratches and the bl**dy burn mark less noticeable.
I hope the above helps - I know how frustrating and annoying this sort of thing is. Best of luck with getting it fixed...

This is only a bodge-up but will look better than a fag-burn. First, get an aerosol of the correct colour (Halfords can make them up from the paint code if it's an unusual one). Then take a piece of cardboard, eg from the back of an A4 pad, and cut a small round hole in it a bit bigger than the mark you want to cover. Hold it about an inch above the mark and spray through in tiny bursts, judging the effect as you go.
Like I say, it's a bodge and it's bound to show, but less than a fag burn!

Can you not just cover it with a big pink ribbon or flower - what you doing wearing a bonnet while driving your TVR anyway?
What's wrong with wearing a baseball cap like the rest of us - unless you're one of these girlies with their Trevors!
