Perhaps "no disresect" but certainly more than a little insensitive. If someone has made a significant contribution to the TVR world to warrant the details of his funeral to be posted at the top of this gassing thread for a week to inform his friends of the arrangements then posting a blunt "who is Colin Parry" thread shows little respect in my eyes. Try looking on the Home page for Tuesday 8th July in you really want to know. No disrepect!!

I'm sorry but good old gamekeeper's charm, once again has made an issue out of nothing. Any normal person reading that question can see it's just a simple respectful question, nothing more than that.

My condoloncies to his family.

I agree. The question could have been as easily interpreted as 'this man is obviously well respected - tell me more about him'. I wouldn't have taken offence if it was asked about a member of my family.

Colin Parry was the RO for TVRCC North London Region (now Bucks), which also spawned the Herts & Beds and Middlesex Regions. I believe he was the longest-serving RO (more than 20 years) and was a club member longer than almost everybody else. There will be more in the next issue of Sprint.

Colin's funeral was yesterday, but it was a celebration of his life, with a good turn out of TVRCC members and their cars.

A larger than life character who will be greatly missed.

I'm a 'normal' person and I never saw any disrespect in Corin's question. Anyone fairly new to the TVR scene wouldn't know who Colin Parry was, so I feel it's a valid question.

Colin was long-standing (23+years) TVRCC member who served as RO for North London for 20 of those years. He also served briefly on the TVRCC committee in the early 1990s. He was well-like and respected by almost all who met him and the fact that nearly 150 people ,including myself, attended his funeral speaks volumes.

Colin, like myself, was 49.

He will be missed.

O.K. folks, the question has been answered to Corin's satisfaction, so let's leave it there.
