sorry for posting help with pop ups!!

I posted it here as i had never thought of looking at "computers and stuff". I come on here to check out the goss on TVR's. Im not a techno wizz and just thought this was a simple way to stop those annoying pop-ups. Judging by the replies this proved a helpfull place to write the post and helped a few,so why move it?

I assume someone moved it because Ted likes threads like this to belong in the correct forum. It makes sense, its a computer related question and as such will probably have a much better chance of remaining on the first page than if it stays here, where it can easily disappear within a day. Don't be angry, be happy it's lovely outside

This is actually a big problem and personally speaking I use this forum for TVR stuff and so wouldn't have looked anywhere else for this info. I'm sure loads of other people have missed it too.

Perhaps Ted could put it up on all of the forums (just for a few days) so that everyone can get rid of those annoying P ups. Or a message on the main page????????? or newsletters???????

Thanks Tinman....I really did help me out and funny enough it was the topic of the moment in our household anyway...(sad eh!).

But since i followed your advice theres been no more Popups apart from regular proper updates etc which im still receiving.

Relax, Tinman - it has helped a lot of people (including me), so there's no point getting in a lather just because the thread has been moved to the appropriate place. Just bathe in the glow of gratitude from us all!!

Just to clarify, Tinmans popup "turn off" stops those annoying viagra, webcam, nob enlargement, borrow 10 squillion quid adds that randomly pop up because you are on line. It does not stop pop ups such as the twice a day audi advert.

Update-
Thanks again Tinman .. I tried it on the laptop (XP) last night and didn't get a popup in over 3 hours of browsing (usually it'd be one every 2-5 mins or so).
Great tip.
