Guys,

anyone know of a good bodyshop in Bristol area please? I have used Webbs before and would like to try a different one.

Second question, anyone has experience with respraying Rosso Pearl, the damage has been done on the roof of my Cerbie , do i need to respray the whole car or just the roof.

Any ideas are welcome.

Talk to Adrian Windridge at Team Proactive in Birmingham. Their bodyshop is excellent and well priced. They did some work on a metallic red jaguar for me earlier in the year and the result was excellent, they have also in the past done work on my wedge which has mica paint - again no complaints and the repairs have stood the test of time

Had a full respray done on my Chimaera at XL Motors in Coventry. Excellent ... they have a guy there called Sam who is an expert with Fibreglass. A factory rep have commented on the quality being better than they could acheive.

Gimlet,

did you have to pay for the whole respray yourself or was it an insurance job? Reply offine if you want dwu_uk@yahoo.co.uk.

Thanks,

Ewelme Coachworks at Ewelme, Oxfordshire are excellent. Thay have done 2 spot repairs to my halcyon pearl (yellow) Cerbera, that are invisible.
Rosso pearl is difficult. My old 4.2 Cerbera was in Rosso and was resprayed in total by the factory from new as I rejected the quality of the paint finish from new (they actually agreed for once!!!). Respray of the whole roof from the tops of the A pillars (assuming you have carbon fibre covers) to the base of the c-pillars should be possible as the styling breaks will deflect the eye from any very slight mismatch. If it can be done, Ewelme will do it.

Mines Rosso Pearl and I had a full respray earlier this year.

Beware, there are two paints for this particular colour number. One is quite bronze in colour - my car had a little patch of this on the rear and somebody told me it was down to missing lacquer. However, when the guys spraying my car mixed up the paint it came out the same colour as the patch on the rear. I assume my car had a minor repair in its earlier life and the paintshop got the wrong colour but did not correct it.

I used scuffs in Lincoln and they did a pretty good job (see profile) - there are a number of Scuffs outlets around Bristol.

Scuffs asked for tips from the factory and they confirmed that the colour is very difficult to match up and nearly always needs a full respray.

Put that down to light. Rosso is very reflective, in bright sunlight mine looks much brighter.
