Yes, one more silly question:
Among you people out here who have owned both cars which is the one you prefer?
Curiously enough I haven't read much on the comparison between the two before...

Although I haven't owned a Tuscan I have owned a Cerbera. Just ordered a Tamora as opposed to a Tuscan because it's a full convertible rather than a fiddly T top. I love the looks but wanted the handling and "full" convertible. The Tamora has the same chassis as the Tuscan but with a few tweaks and different power steering. I dont think there is a great difference in power with any of the three cars (Tamora, Tuscan and Cerb) it's more a matter of looks. obviously the Cerb is the fastest, but not by a hell of a lot.
Over 1 mile in my Cerb I pulled about 1 and 1/2 car lengths on a S6 Tuscan at Duxford aerodrome.

I have owned a Chimera and now a Cerbera, I had the use of a Tuscan for a week while my car was being serviced and:-

Chimera - Great car for with the roof down, nice noise, good all rounder.

Tuscan - Nice but a bit to stiff and the roof and rear window were a bit fiddly for my liking.

Cerbera - The dogs b******s, I have loved everything about it, it handles really well, the power is smooth (I opted for the speed six, due to 6 month old son so smooth was more important that pure grunt) great interior and a real headturner.

These are all IMHO.

Thom, I have owned both a new Cerbera 4.2 and a Tuscan. The Tuscan was such a disapointment it put me off TVR ownership, probably for life after 9 years. My Cerbera was a truly great car and the only thing I missed was a soft top and if TVR would have played ball getting my Tuscan sorted I would have bought another Cerbera. However, other people could probably tell you the exact opposite!

I've had a Cerbera 4.2 (2.5 years) and now a Tuscan (10 weeks.)
I much prefer the Tuscan, the Speed six engine is much smoother and less agricultural than the AJP8 with a much nicer power delivery and better sound.
You can actualy drive the Tuscan in town without kangarooing down the road like a learner.

Mine is a new Tuscan and i find the handling better that the Cerbera as well which always felt a bit long and unwieldy.
The design, finish and build quality of my Tuscan are way ahead of my Cerbera and the Tuscan makes all the other TVRs look dated, Cerbera included.

To sum up, Cerbera more of a cruiser for the tradionalist, Tuscan more of a sportscar for the new millenium.

All above IMHO of course.

To add my 2p: Have owned 2 Griffiths, 2 Cerbies, a Tuscan and now a RR Cerbie, I prefer the rawness of a Cerbie, its much more a racecar than the Tuscan will ever be. But I'm tempted about the TuscanR, as you know...

What do you mean by "agricultural"?
It feels like a or a Mack truck?

Could be "agricultural" because early Cerbera's sound like tractors, or at least mine does and has been nicknamed so !

Hopefully sorted after the new year when the tappets are getting done by Thames Valley.

Well more like a cement mixer, a very powerfull one I admit.
Mine was an early 4.2 with the lumpy cams and it was a dog in traffic and they sound like a four pot.
