Rover V8 Twin Turbo!! for sale

In the latest issue of CCC magazine I saw an ad in the classifieds for a 5.1 Rover V8 Twin Turbo. 450/500bhp 550lbs/ft torque! Thought it might be of interest to someone thinking of increasing their TVRs performance a bit! Asking price was £4,500 though. (could always sell the old V8 to help finance the new one I suppose)

Nice idea - but I have a problem with 275 never mind that much. Is there any open racing series that you can use that engine with? I can see an excellent way to burn my equity in my mortgage...

Ston - If you are interestead in finding out more about turbocharging the Rover engine why not give the guy who is selling the engine in CCC a call Tel [phone]. I'm sure he could tell you who built it etc. But it would almost certainly be much cheaper to buy a complete engine like the one for sale and fit that, then sell your old V8. There would probably a good market for your old 'genuine' TVR engine amongst the kit car crowd.

Steve at Thames Valley Racetech is the kind of TVR Specialist who could carry out a transplant of this kind. As well as fit a big brake kit (essential with 450/500bhp!) and upgrade the suspension. He as already built a track day Chimaera with stripped out interior, race seats, AP Racing brakes, Stack dash etc.
