Have tried buying a set of manifolds for my Chimaera from the PistonHeads classified. The seller is a regional organiser for TVR so I thought i could trust him and bank transfer the money (£200). Been waiting over 4 months for him to send the manifolds despite frequent requests by phone, email, text, interrupting into threads he has replied to..... Dont know what to do! will start naming and shaming soon, but not my style.

Why cant you contact the tvr club and let them know, be interested to know how they would deal with it.

Have contacted PistonHeads about it and they have contacted the seller directly. He gave some excuse about not being able to get the parts to a courier and being very busy. Most couriers will collect and if you are so busy that you cant send off something you are selling within 4 months then, well he shouldn't be selling it. Still hoping that Pistonheads can help. But will contact the TVR club on Monday.

Needless to say that i wont name names. but i am so frustrated with this that i feel like going down south to pay him a visit.

Can see why you might possibly refer to PH but what has it to do with TVRCC? It's a private matter between you and the seller (or non-seller as it were). All this thread will do is provoke speculation and rumour which is no use to anyone, including you. Small claim action can be initiated on-line and is the best way to bring to a head provided evidence exists. Hope you get what you've paid for or recover the dosh smile

Fair enough and I can see where PH stands legally on this issue.
BUT, every time I see an issue like this come up on here or anywhere it just seems like another nail in the coffin of trust and accountability. Somebody comes along screws somebody else over and then cries not fair if their actions are made public and we all have to feel sorry for their hurt feelings.

I may have got the wrong end of the stick and the OP is a chancer who is pushing things- but if that's the case why can't the target/victim come back and say 'no you're a t*at, your cheque bounced no way am I sending out any goods to you how dare you imply this or that'. At least it's out in the open and people can a)make their own minds up and b)avoid compainant/accused like the plaque.

End of rant...whole week on the wagon and first drinks tonight...

Fair enough, too busy to sell but what reason would there be for not offering you a refund instead?

Don't disagree, but it's all been said before and so many times redface

suggest you read this for clarification on the subject.

Its clear the fella in question is just a cockroach and should be dealt with like one, why cant you name and shame in situations like these? or is it a breach of his human rights or some other PC guff like that! piston heads should emerge from the swamps, grow a back bone and start walking upright - do the right thing big al, go round his house and fight him and leave with every penny of that 200 quid alternatively if he's short of cash, goods to the value of! so no more of us decent people get stung by the same back boneless jelly fish!

It's not exactly a good example to set from a regional organiser is it? I would imagine the TVRCC would like to know the info even if they decided not to act on it (like stripping him of his regional organisership as he's quite obviously taking the weewee with a fellow TVR enthusiast, not the face a caring sharing club would like to put forward I'm sure).

I think youve been patient enough, even if it costs you your 200 pounds to go down there and face this guy on his own doorstep to give him a piece of your mind I'd consider it money well spent (unlike the 200 youve already spent for nothing)

I really feel for you, you'd think a fellow TVR owner and regional organiser would be more open and honest. I know you gave him the 200 pounds but unless you receive goods to the value isn't that effectively theft or gaining money falsely or something? I'm sure the Police would do sweet FA about it, but it might be a good idea to report it anyway .. it might strengthen any legal case you bring?

Weren't "His" censored brakes just great. As he says ' A spot-on conversion for only 200pounds - why that's not very much at all.

OscarT

Sorry for the censored but individual PH'ers are also covered by the the sites naming and shaming policy.

Any more NAME dropping and I’ll close this thread.

Gentlemen the choice is yours.

I also wish Chimjunkie a satisfactory outcome, feel free to drop me a mail.

Chimjunkie I would not hesitate to email this guy today and give him 7 days to send you your part or you will issue a writ in the county court. And then I would issue it if the parts dont arrive. It's very easy to do and the cost is fully recoverable from him as well as interest.

If this guy is using his position as a TVRCC RO to help conduct business and is then legging people over I would also not hesitate to contact the club. I would email the Chairman direct at chairman@tvrcc.com As a club member I am appalled that an RO should act in this manner and I am sure Jeremy will be too.

As far as PH is concerned Al, sure the no name and shame policy is valid. But in a case like this where there is clear evidence of someone using PH classifieds in an underhand manner then at the very least PH should ban him from using them in the future.
