Now I'm even more confused, didnt think you could re-register a car with a more recent registration??? Looks like a one-off - those wheel arches are definitely not original!! Think I would want full details of who modified it, when, what was done and where the registration came from before I thought about buying it. Certainly is an interesting one though!!
You could if you are serious about buying check the reg with www.hpi.co.uk/.
For a small fee. Its not cast iron but quite close. Mine (my car) showed up 3 reg changes, original, personal and another personal (final). If it shows up 3 ltr then be wary! Also the insurance company would need to see the mods.

The link isnt working for me - maybe the site's down, but from the discription you guys have given about the arches and engine if the car's red, there's been a very simular car advertised in Classic Car mag for serveral months now.
I thought they stopped making these in 1980?, could it be the factory had a few M bodies lying around in the mid 80's and may have experimented/created prototypes maybe?

I've just seen the ad, it's a different red, so not the same car, but same reg and spec. I wonder if these were built at the factory or converted by another specialist?
Oh, the other car was up for about 15k if my memory serves me well, and was advertised as a Taimar with a 4.7 Westlake V8 engine.

The Weslake-engined car was at Duxford this year although the guy put it back onto the transporter and left before the sprint. Unfortunately I never made a note of the registration but I do know from experience that a car's colour can look a lot different in photographs. It's probably the same car; if the bodywork wasn't so hightly modified, I'd be interested in it myself.

made a fool of myself, i've looked at the same car on a couple of different sites and on some it looks burgundy and others bright red! Anyway i saw it advertised at £5995 fell in love sold all my belongings to buy it rang the guy up and lo and behold £15,995 talk about cheesed off.
So i'm a looking for an S series from £6500 to £7,000 if anybody knows of one. Also got couple of bikes to sell, a ducati 916 and a harley 1200 sportster
Offer the guy £7000 for it. I bet he will take it. He has had the car for sale for three years. I know because I looked at it three years ago and bought a Griffith for the same money.
