I use Mobil 1 in my Tuscan which has done about 27,000 miles and rarely have to top it up, perhaps twice a year (and even then only a smidge). The oil was last changed at its service in June. Last weekend I checked the oil after a good run and thought the oil colour was a bit darker than normal (I could of course be imagining this). I just wondered what folks on here thought? I've recently had a problem with the water temp - pod reading showing 116 degrees. I suspect a faulty sensor because the fans work fine but are appearing to come on too late (over 100 degrees) but I am told they work off a different sensor (typical TVR!). Anyway it got me wondering whether I really have been experiencing high temps and whether oil temp (which I've noticed has been in the 90's) has resulted in the oil becoming degraded (I could be talking total b*llocks for all I know - I'm no engineer!)

I hope a link to the pics appears below. I took two pics, one is what the oil looks like if I dip it into the bottle, the other is taken from the car (cold).

Cheers

Looks fine to me too. Would suggest the engine is in fine shape too.
