Advice and recommendation required please:

I have been living in Germany for the last six years and enjoying the magnificent service from TVR Sportscar in Hagen. Sadly, its time for me to move back to the UK at the end of this month, and the Griff needs to be reimported back to home soil. I need to get an MOT test done as soon as possible after getting back so I can register the car with the DVLA.

I am going to be living inbetween Swindon and Oxford, and I'm looking for a TVR-aware MOT test centre in that area. I understand that the MOT process has been tightened up a bit since I left the UK, and I would prefer not to have to explain about the back number plate etc etc.

Any recommendations?

Cheers,

Pete

A little far maybe, but a bunch of us locals use Neil Garner at Kembrey (near Cirencester). Whilst he doesn't do MOT's himself he has a TVR friendly MOT tester within 1/2 mile who he uses.

My Cerbera even flew through the emissions test smile

I asked henley heritage where they do their MOT's, and they use White Hill serivce station near Henley. I have used then twice and they are really good, thorough MOT's and they are used to handling TVR's. They have gone the extra mile for me twice when adjusting headlight levels, tighten things up to pass. Great thing is that they would prefer not to work on TVR's, so I don't feel that they are trying to fail to generate work.

Actually, my Tuscan was with Str8 Six in Henley earlier this year for an engine rebuild and they got my MOT done at White Hill serivce station also. They adjusted my headlights and a couple of other things free of charge as well.

I think david Hendry in Malmesbury uses the same MOT center, as they also did my MOT last year.

Titcombes in west swindon, done my cars for years, very fair. Do not even mind if you poke your nose in and in fact with the Griff i do the ramp up in the air stuff myself, ie sit in and press brakes etc.
