Dear PieMeister,

I am sad that an effort to contribute a genuine new element (or at least what I see as such) to a debate was sanctionned by an abrupt "Rubbish" . I thought it was a fair comment. A large number of people have commented about good and bad experiences about their beloved cars. In such context, is questioning drivers attitude to their car (maintenance, running-in, etc.) irrelevant? Me think not.

Ain't taking it personaly though.... or was it because I am a smelly Frenchman ..

I've seen this debate so many times now (perhams I spend too much time here). It's just that if noone's got anything new to add then I don't think it's doing anyone any good by prolonging the debate.

Don't agree here! I live here with my wife , have a house - and a mortgage , a National Insurance Number , I pay my taxes here , I studied in Newcastle , I eat pies , I drink ale and I drive a TVR . OK I don't have ginger hair or the healthy red cheeks of a Yorkshire squire but that not too bad!

Hope the 25 grand I pay in taxes every year should do! Accept quite happily to contribute to help us all build a better society, but hell why is the NHS in such a mess? Won't even start talking about public transport or over crowded roads.
