Hello everyone

The last message board I joined was a pregnancy one, but all that is out the way now and I thought I would join one that had some umph. Have heard about this site and apparently it can be a bit fiesty? Hope it's not too bad.

Have recently got TVR (after bump gone!) and she (it if you prefer) is lovely. She's called loopy lou and goes like stink. However. my everyday car is a Vectra (2.5 V6) and this 4.0 Chimp is a bit daunting. Have had a bit of a jaunt in it with a pro but wondered if anyone had any ideas of tricks to try on the roads without scaring myself silly.

Anyway, have to go get the brat now so will do that and see if anyone has any tips later.

Take care all

A warm welcome to you Emma !
One of the best features of this site are the fantastic smileys you can use, e.g.

As far as driving lesson for TVR, errr I don't think I am in a position to give anyone a lesson. Let's get myself sorted first.

Obviously you can't be as new as your ex-bump! Welcome, Emma and emmalet (mmm, nice.. sorry, that's omelette!)

Se how easy it is to get a new topic going? Your post begs the general question...

Does anyone else have a name for their car? Trevor is the obviou one, and I know I've called mine several Anglo-Saxon names from time to time!!?

Smudged,

Welcome to it. Just watch out for that pbrettle bloke, he's a bit loony I reckon...

Still, 4.0 Chimaera... one hell of a step up from that nasty rusty company Astra you viciously forced me to drive back from MK all those years ago.

Cheers,

Welcome Smudge..

Reckon a nice tail slide round a 90 degree junction can be quite good fun... (Oh, you will need new rear tyres about every 5000 miles, or is that just me )

Hi All

I haven't worked out what all these smiley's mean yet!

The omelette is officially known as Thomas, he just stinks generally! All my cars have names. Poochie is the estate, Nigel is the Vectra and Loopy Lou is the TVR (although have just purchased a private plate for it!)

Well done Marshy, I thought you would guess it was me. If only we had a TVR in, what was it '96? Oh well. Perhaps another day... Have lost your card by the way that is why I have not phoned...

I will try the roundabout thing as I am quite good at those. Also, had a thought today - I missed a muntjack in Nigel today by about half an inch, what would have happened in the Loopy Lou? I bet I would have hit it and that would have hurt her. (Am a farm girl so don't get worried about hitting the animals, as sad as it is, but it can be so costly). Hmm, will mention this to hubby (pbrettle as Marshy guessed) and understand more about the car - still on a huge learning curve.

Anyway, will read the other things now.

Thanks everyone

a muntjack (if thats the right spelling) is a small deer type thingy about large dog size that has the irritating habit of running out in front of cars.....would really spoil your day if you hit one, say hello to Paul for me Emma, I met him at the Cambs club meet

Apache,

I am here - hi to you too. I kept talking about this Pistonheads thing all of the time and what happens - she comes along and registers for it too. Oh, well accept my apologies in advance all.

Oh, and Apache, are there plenty of people from the Cambridge club going to Le Mans next year? Seems that wifey has stated that we ARE going next year and need to sort out something pretty quick.

Cheers,

Paul

Emma,

Welcome, its nice to see another girl posting here. I don't drive a TVR (my job as a top quality TV presenter and car expert means I get free cars) but I sometimes share a computer with a TVR driver.

Most of the people are ok really - do you watch Changing Rooms ?

Love,
Puny.
