Does anyone out there in Pistonheadland collect TVR advertising postcards?

I am a TVR enthusiast trying to put together a TVR postcard collection and would welcome the opportunity to trade duplicates with other like minded people.

If anyone has any postcards they don't want, or knows of any inexpensive ways to increase my collection, I'd love to hear from you. Please Email me via my profile.

Sadly the vast majority of TVR dealers that I've emailed for help on this in the past, have in the main not even bothered to reply.

Go on prove me wrong dealers, I'll report any future successes through this thread (with Ted's permission of course).

Hope you can help!

Regards

The only one I have is a fairly recent Griff 500, in metallic read, photographed in woodland. You are welcome to it (subject to finding it in my resembles-a-recent-burglary flat).
Email me you address perhaps.

JasonF and NoisyGriff,

Thanks for the offers guys. Unfortunately I can't seem to email either of you through your profiles. I keep getting a message saying that "my email hasn't been verified and to edit my profile". I've tried editing it with no success. I'll drop Ted a line to see if he can sort me out. Get back to you soon!!

You could email me direct on davison.p@tinyworld.co.uk

Ted's beavering away to fix the email problem. Good man!

I'll drop Jason F and NoisyGriff a note with my address when its resolved.

If anyone else has a burning desire to send me any postcards they don't want , please contact me on

davison.p@tinyworld.co.uk

and I'll post out SAEs so you can send them.

I know this is a bit of a cheek but if next time all you TVR enthusiasts are down at the dealers could you uplift some of the postcards for me I'd be ever so grateful.

Damnit, I'll even splash out and offer a (smallish) monetary prize for the person who sends me the most. Does my generousity know no bounds? - lol.

Thanks!

Preston - What exactly are these TVR Postcards you are after, and where can you get them from?

I've never seen any at my local dealers - do they still do them?

Are you still after more? It all sound a bit "anoracky" to me! Why dont you buy a TVR car instead.

PowerSlider - Since 1994, TVR have produced 11 series of advertising Postcards. Each series comprises of between 1 and 25 cards. Around 150 different postcards have been issued. The front of each postcard depicts a colour photograph of a particular TVR model. The reverse lists technical details. The cards are produced by TVR Engineering and are distributed through their dealer network. I became aware of these cards a couple of years ago and started collecting them. Thanks to a genorous response from Pistonhead members this week, my collection has grown from 30 to 60 different cards almost overnight. I now feel it may be possible, given the further support of Pistonheads members, to obtain the full set. If that happened, I could set up a web site so that all of the postcards pictures could be viewed by TVR enthusiasts. The earlier issues of cards are the most difficult to obtain, but I am sure that certain TVR Dealers/enthusiasts do have them tucked away still. Yes, it is a bit "Anoraky" I suppose but I guess I'm just a TVR nut at heart. I love driving my 450 Chimaera, but this hobby allows me exposure to the other TVR models, without the expense of having to actually buy them all. LOL. If anyone has any postcards they dont want, or any to swap/sell, or if anyone would be prepared to ask their local TVR dealer for some postcards next time you are ogling their cars, I would love to hear from you. You can Email me via my profile. Thanks.Preston1990

Thanks for the info Preston, p'raps it would be interesting to have a website showing all the pictures from the TVR Postcards!

Seeing as its Christmas , next time I'm at my TVR dealer I'll ask if he has any and I'll send them to you.

I'm sure that there will be others on this forum that will offer to do the same. What do you say guys (and gals)?

I suppose if you do get enough people doing this for you, you may get the full set one day.

I'll contact you after I've talked to my dealer .

Good Luck with it! PS

Jason F - the card you sent me arrived this morning. Many Thanks!

If anyone else has any more TVR Postcards to give, swap or sell please get in touch via my profile.

Do any dealers read these posts?

I'm bound to want to trade my Chimaera in for a Tuscan or a Tamora at some point you know!
