I have just been asked about the current state of TVR and felt embarrassed that I didn't really know the answer.

I realise that these topics can go wildly off topic but I would be very interested to get an update from the experts here if anyone knows the answers.

Who actually owns the TVR name and subsequent model names these days? Who owns the properties, and what exactly is left- are there engines and tooling equipment or has it all been shipped out? I guess most interestingly, is anyone planning on taking it forward and building cars again?

As I said there is a lot of speculation and certainly some strong feeling around this subject, but I would be grateful if anyone can help me learn more.

Cheers guys, have a great weekend

I know! I was chatting with Ted and Big Al before I posted about where this would go. I know it will go off in all sorts of directions but I am very interested to know! Let's see what I've started here!

A little pruning may be in order, but fear not I'll leave your post long enough to be seen and get a laugh. hehe

I know, I know. But it's been a while, and when I was asked by someone who you'd think would know more than anyone, I wondered if anything had changed recently.

So where is this search facility then......? wink

Well, my TVR is going rather well, thank you for asking smile
It does seem very fast, and quite loud too, but these are probably design faults, and over time i have come to live with them.

It can ocasionally be seen hooning around late at night, or early morning, or sometimes in between, mostly in tunnels.

moleskins still owns it after the two american clowns failed to buy the company, but they still remain within the company in the hope that they can ever make cars again. They have no production ready engines, they have no body or chassis manufacturer although i do know they have been advised by one manufacturer what they should do. In fact the only thing left of tvr apart from all the hotair and bull sheeet is the parts deal. TVR is dead and imo its not coming back anytime soon
