The story:
0 miles, Jan 2007: Heritage: Classic Car Insurance. SD&P not commuting. 3,000 miles p.a.
3,000 miles, May 2007: Heritage: Additional 2,000 miles (5,000 miles p.a.).
5,000 miles, Sep 2007: Heritage: Additional 2,500 miles (7,500 miles p.a.).
In January I bought my Griff. I had no experience of a powerful RWD sports car, parked on the drive and factory fitted alarm immobiliser. I had no idea how many miles I'd be doing as I had not owned a second car for fun before, but 3,000 miles seemed reasonable. The best quote I had was from Heritage @ £460.
A few months went by and I realised I was using up my miles a bit quicker than I'd expected so added another 2,000 miles for £100, which I thought was quite reasonable. I also promised myself to leave it on the drive more often.
We're now in September and I've just about run out again - these Tivs are too much fun you know
. Anyhoo - I've just been on to Heritage to get a quote - they said the next bracket is 7,500 miles. Off she goes to get a price, back she comes with ... £10!
I'm guessing it's because I was hammered initially because of my lack of experience etc., but now I have 5,000 miles under my belt.
Whatever --

Went for 7,000 mile limit with Mannings for around £535ish in January, not knowing how many miles I would actually do in my first year of owning a RWD sports car. I was anticipating going on Megahoon hence the higher mileage limit but a house move has got in the way
Have only done around 3,000 miles so far so I'm obviously not getting out enough
Oh well, must try and get out for a blat this weekend whilst the weather is good
Anyone up for a hoon around the Cotswolds this weekend
