Waiting to fill up the tin top yesterday there was an old boy being shouted at over the tannoy to hold up the petrol container that he was filling in the boot of his car, so they could see it was a proper type. i.e. not a lemonade bottle.
Now of course Sainsburys don't sell a high octane fuel (at least not in my local one), but it did strike me that it would be amusing to take the Chim in there for a fillup.
They would presumably not realise you have to open the boot to access the fuel filler, and think I'm trying to fill a can.
Unfortunately I'm not strong enough to lift up the entire car to show them it's a proper container.
God I'm bored!

I've had that a couple of times to which they normally just get a very evil stare in return!

We used to get questioned filling up the landrover. The extra tank was under the drivers seat.

Funny, I've never been questioned in any garge when filling the Tamora. The filler cap is in the boot. Never given it any thought.

I went in my local Sainsers with the Chim last week, filled up the car with Super Unleaded, then filled a 20 litre jerrycan and nobody paid a blind bit of notice.

I did that before with my old pug 406 coupe, pretty much a 70 litre tank on the car, then another 20 litres in the jerry can.

The chap on the checkout thought there must be a problem and I had been over charged! smile
