I've got a 55 Tuscan Convertible and it is due is 12,000 mile service in the next few weeks.

If the 3 year warranties were still being honoured, I would get the service done at a main dealer. But from what I can gather, they haven't been paying out on the warranties for some time.

This seems to suggest that a good independent is the right route, given the £400+ saving to be made. However, I am concerned that if TVR ever 'returns' and the warranties are then honoured, I wouldn't be able to claim.

Any thoughts?

Also, if TVR aren't honouring the warranties and there are no new cars being supplied, how can a dealer desribe themselves as a 'main dealer'?

I didn't think they could enforce the "must be dealer maintained" any more in order to keep a warranty valid, I am sure any Vat registered indie is legally just as suitable just so long as the schedule is adhered to. Assuming I am correct on that, then indie all the way.

eu legislation states that as longs as the ervice schedule is addered to using the correct parts, you can use anyone and the warranty should be maintained.

As long as TVR exist then they can have a main dealer network if they wish. It is of limited value now and the surprise is how many businesses continue to be main dealers.
