Grounded my car on a curb, with a grass verge that banked away at the weekend. Just came to the car this morning to discover about 1/2 a pint(?) of oil on the garage floor. I guess I have cracked my sump, is it aluminium, anyone any experience of how easy this is to get fixed?

Hopefully you have simply undone the sump nut a bit? I've done that on mine before.

The sump is steel and pretty strong. I also suspect that the sump plug is loose. I do a replacement which doesn't undo

Happened to me after an altercation with a speed hump in Ireland, except mine unscrewed it self until it fell out, luckily I noticed the oil pressure dropping and switched off in time. Now have Steve’s sump plug fitted, worth doing on all RV8 just for piece of mind.

Hi Steve,

I know this off subject (sorry guys), when I owned an S2 I had your maintenance bible and found it very useful. I have recently bought a 1977 Taimar and looked on your site to see if you had anything similar for the Taimar and could not find one. Do you do or know off a maintenance bible for the Taimar?

Regards,

Colin
