Now, don't really want to carp, but you lot down South are spoiled for TVR dealers, specialists, garages. This is why you see other TVR's all over the place.
Up here in deepest Cambs, you're lucky to see one a week – and that includes a fair bit of A1 driving – although did see one in Peterborough yesterday lunchtime, who are you P617 CAH blue Chim?
Nearest dealer is TMS, (a fair drive) I'm miles from Kings Lynn (now no more?), nearest dealer south is Barnet (77 miles, I know, I do it regularly). Don't suppose anyone will replace Brundle only a bit closer to where the action is (ie not Norwich). I must say I cannot remember when I last saw a Cerbera in this area (true).
Mind you, there is bugger all round Peterborough except fields!

Look at it this way, your TVR is unusual and will turn heads. In Surrey and Hampshire they are becoming common.
Unfortunately for every decent TVR mechanic there is another 3 or 4 ripping people off. It's not all roses.
Best TVR mechanics are found via car clubs. I'm a member of the Hants TVR club.

Mickey,

Where have you been looking? There are a few TVRs about in Cambs. Most of us also seem to use them during the week as well - often regularly spot 2 Tivs at the station car park. As for specialists we have Rollcentre and Offord Motors and Cambridge Motor Sport. There is also a new dealer - Castle TVR at Stanstead.
Perhaps most TVR drivers in Cambs get to drive a bit more quickly (except on the A14) so you may have trouble spotting them!

That's the main problem ... NOT GOT ONE YET! So haven't got the pleasure of sneaking out to the garage to just gaze in amazement at one (ie mine!). Maybe I'm too far north in the county ... nearly bordering on good old Lincs. and TVR don't make tractors do they?

TMS which is the original dealer you mentioned actually stands for Tractor Motor Services. They started the same time as TVR in 1947 but were a Massey Fergerson main dealer in Melton Mowbray.

Far from being awash with dealers Bristol is a bit of a TVR free zone. Our nearest main dealer is in Malmesbury (A tiny place in the middle of nowhere), The next nearest is in darkest Wales (Newport) ... Nuff Said, and then Exeter (80 odd miles). All of these would involve me taking at least 1 day off work in order to get a problem sorted. I am amazed that TVR have no main dealer in a city the size of Bristol ... have we done anything to offend them in the past? We do have a couple of specialist smaller garages, without which we would have to rely on Kwik Fit.

NOTE to TVR dealers. Lots of people live in Bristol

jamesr: how ironic!

When I said the South I meant that area below London, to the left ie Surrey/Hants area, just count the dealers, specialist garages down there, overflowing! Send some up here please.

there was a superb TVR dealer in Bristol until a year ago, Broughtons.

they are still in Bristol as a rolls and Bentley dealer, and treated you as such with your TVR.

they used to send their low loader from Bristol if anything at all went wrong with my first Cerby

think in the end they dropped the franchise due to the large amounts of warranty work on the new Tuscan, esp when the factory only wanted to pay them £25 an hour for doing it!!

think they are still servicing cars and dealing in used ones at either Bristol or Cheltenham

Emphatically not Cheltenham. Or at least, they were emphatic about it when I phoned them a couple of weeks ago.

thats odd as they are still running a weekly add in the sunday times asking for low mileage griffs and chimera's

surely they would need to service the ones they sell??

Q. "Do you still sell TVRs?"
A. "No."
Q. "Do you still service them?"
A. "No."

Which was irritating... took a three hour lunch break and went up to David Gerald TVR near Worcester instead. All for an oil change.
