Just got a quote of £1200 to insure a 5.0 Griff! VX220 or Griff laugh Not a bad quote for a 21 year old?

After trying some more:

£1900 for a T350C
£1500 for a 4.2 Cerbera
£1500 for a 4.0 Tuscan
£1200 for a 3.6 Tamora

Online I assume? They very often reverse that when you come to buy. I got a quote very early on for an MX5 which was very low. Had a problem online and they said no and put it up by over a grand.

I was told that if this is the case, do a 'print-screen' of the quote online and print it off. They must stick by it.

Try the more specialised insurers for performance cars - eg A Manning. You may be able to better the quotes from the general insurance types.

I think you've to be over 25 before Mannings will insure you.

Ah, yes age may play a partrolleyes the following tend to advertise in Sprint so may be worth a shout: a-plan, A-one, Classicline, Heritage and Adrian Flux. Not tried them recently for quotes, though. Think some of these would give discount for TVRCC membership (A Manning certainly do). A mileage limit will also help /M

I'm currently with Elephant and can't fault them. I already had insurance with them when I bought the Chim so decided to pay the difference for the year and stick with them as the quote was still reasonable. Had a claim recently (my fault) and they were superb at sorting it out - handled everything for me. Never had problems with them reneging on quotes but I would still follow the advice of saving the quote for safety's sake. The only thing I'm a little unhappy with is their insistance that any modification (even if it will improve safety) will increase your premium yet they won't pay out for the mod in the event of a claim.

My renewal is due next month and I'll probably be going for a specialist next time as I want to track the Chim. I guess we'll see what the quotes are like... rolleyes

They dont HAVE to stick to it. There is no contract. They do it as a good will gesture only.

Did A Plan include track cover? Do you need it?

I was with Direct Line for a year. Competetive quote but everything seemed to cost extra (foreign travel, upgrades etc). I do a couple of track days and foriegn trips a year and its Mannings all the way for me thumbup

A plan did not include trackday cover but yes the foreign travel was free, 'doing' croft next month with HHC hope i don't need cover.
Good luck tomorrow by the way
