Ideally get another pipe made up that is a cone shape as the expanding gas in the cavity left will reduce flow.
However, cheaply yes, hammer and chisel. Make sure you wear a mask though.
Also the material should be disposed of properly as it's quite nasty.
good point re the flow, I will skip that idea then. However, cheaply yes, hammer and chisel. Make sure you wear a mask though.

Try contacting Dave Chant (NTEL) - he has made up some pipes for the SP6 and has different size flanges too depending on your pipe diameter.
Andy
That batch of pipes have all gone now, but if there is enough interest I will make up another batch. Following yesterdays winning Startline Challenge run at the rock, I'm putting the Tuscan on the rolling road at TVR Power, in a couple of weeks, to confirm what power / torque gains have been made by fitting them. Also we will see if there any additional gains / benefits to be had by remapping the ECU to take advantage of the improved gas flow characteristics. Will report back with the results if folk are interested.Andy

I have a pair of old speed six cats which need the internal mesh removing, so I can use as de cat pipes. Can anybody recommend an easy way to do this or is it just a case of a big hammer and chisel?
Alan
Are these old cats off a Sagaris? If not, then you will find that they are slightly different to the ones on your car. Sags and the later "S" cats have a 129.5mm dia manifold flange, where as the standard cats have a 126.5mm flange.Alan
Unless the cats are completely knackered, I cant understand why people smash out the elements when they cost about £1000 to replace the pair.

I'm really interested in some decat pipes for the SP6 - I have a 2003 T350 which my indies say appears to be a really sweet one, generally runs smoothly and delivers.... I really want to get the most of it without major mods, and i have a couple of fuelling issues at really low and high revs, so have been considering....
- carbon airbox (mainly for looks and induction roar)
- de-cat pipes
- sports exhaust (rear box backward i presume - mainly for noise again)
- rolling road diagnostics and re-map - who's good/recommended to do this??
I'm after slight overall bhp/torque increase (if poss), smoother delivery, espeially would like lower down peak torque and bhp and flatter torque curve - don't want much do i?
Is this the way to go?
If so, please put me on the list for de-cat pipes - i presume quality stainless steel (!) ;-)
What measurements do you need toknow from my existing setup?
What options for Sports exhaust do i have?
PM me about possible prices please....
Regards
Spike

Hi Spike. Just to make things a bit clearer so I don't upset the mods here. I'm not making these decat pipes for commercial purposes its just that I originally wanted to make my own because, well, I can. I had to buy minimum quantities of material in order to make them and that is why I made up a batch. Basically the cost of the decats covers my costs with a little left over for my time.
As for the technicalities, I'm not that clever. All I know is that they sound great, especially when combined with a sports exhaust. I will have more of an idea on performance gains, if any, when my Tuscan has been on the rolling road.
I notice you are in the North West. Track V Road in Clitheroe have a set on the shelf waiting to go into a T350. Why not pop in there and have a look.

Thanks Dave... you have mail...I'll be up at Track V Road tomorrow - handling issues - so I'll have a butcher's at those pipes.....
