Hi,

I have just found out after a lot a flaffing about (see this thread http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0... ) that a little end has gone.

The car SHOULD be covered under warantee, and I have been told by the garage that they do not do the work on the engines, they ship them off to STR8 Six. (Jason I think).

I cant find out any thing about these people, should I be lookeing to have the engine work done elsewhere, can any one tell me if they have a website. Any recomendations of who might be better if they are not recomended / not known.

Also can any one tell me what is involved in doing the little end on a Speed Six.

Thanks

Barry

STR8 Six do not have a website but I can highly recommend Jason's work as he has just re-built my engine. I was put onto him by Fernhurst.

Jason is on holiday at the moment but if you need a contact number for him just PM me. I'm sure he'll do an excellent job for you.

Do you know if his work is covered by any kind of guarantee?

Also does any one have any experience claiming from Auto Protect. i.e. a Little end on a car with low milage and no signs of oil starvation on the cams \ followers etc. Are they going to say wear and tear or any other such rubbish.

He will warranty the work he does for 12 months or 10k miles. Nice guy too.

Hexham Horseless are using them for any rebuilds they have. Thats good enough for me. Fingers crossed I won't need them though!
