A couple of questions
Discussion
Hi,
I've got a couple of small requests that hopefully someone on here can help me with. A few weeks back I found out that one the American managers where I work has been a long time fan of TVRs back from seeing all the wedges and such back over in the US in his younger days. He saw (well heard at first) me arrive at work in my Chim and came over to have a look and a chat about the cars in general. Finally last week the weather was nice and I took him out for a spin and I think it's safe to say he was impressed, in his words the Chim 'looks better than a Viper and sounds better than a Mustang' which from an American I took as quite a compliment
As with most people one of the things he likes best is the noise and he mentioned that he'd love to get a recording of the noise to put on his mp3 player and take back to the US to show some of his friends what a real car sounds like. Now unfortunately I don't have access to any recording equipment that can do justice to the sound of a TVR and so I was wondering if anybody has any really good, high quality audio recordings of TVR's?. Mine is a 98 Chim 4.5 with a sleeved exhaust so that would be ideal but if I could get together a selection of all the different types that would great. I'm sure on YouTube and the like there are lots of videos of TVR's but often the sound is pretty basic and doesn't really fully capture the full range of the noise, anybody have or know where I could get such a thing?
The second request is again for the same guy and is a bit more specialised. Since our trip out he's really fallen in love with the Chims and is now seriously thinking of buying one and getting it exported back to the states when he goes back home but he's not really sure how feasible that will be. Are there any companies here in the UK that would have experience of doing such a thing including whatever legal stuff needs to be done at the US side or do any of the US readers here know of any US based companies that could help him? Thinking about it are there any US branches of the TVR Car Club that may be able to offer some advice, he lives near New York I believe although knowing that the scale of the US is a bit different to over here I'm not sure what he classes as 'near'.
TIA for any suggestions,
Ross

Answer to first question is a CD here
Answer to your second question is that you cannot get a TVR pst the US import regulations unless it's for 'show and exhibitions' and that's only for a year.
See legislation in a thread that's asked this questtion on here. I'll link if I can find the thread.

This chap will know about the import rules, & if he doesn't he'll be able to find out. It's Marshall Moore, Chairman of the TVRCC USA. Had a nice chat with him at the BBWF last weekend. He'll be at The Rock this weekend.
