Recently several TVR events have been moved for General TVR Stuff and Gossip to Events, Meetings and Travel, a forum I (for one) look at far less often.

May I enquire as to why the decision to move these threads has been taken?

I know several other people have questioned this.

Could we have a poll to see where people would prefer them to be?

If the event is of interest to a wider audience, then the organiser could post in Events, Meetings and Travel with a link to the main thread in General TVR Stuff & Gossip.

Your thoughts?

Liz - I'm with you on this one, I rarely look in Events/Meetings/Travel as it's full of stuff I'm either not interested in or is too far for me to get to. If it's a specific TVR event it belongs here. That's the way it's been in the past, I don't know why it has to change now.

We could have a TVR meets forum?

Might make it simpler.

Completely agree. I know from experience that PH members just don't frequent the "Events" forum that much and tend to stick to their own marque. Whose bright idea was it to start moving all the event reminders? This does not help the event organisers one bit. Some consultation would have been useful.

Reminder :- Surrey meet this Thursday ;0)

Completely agree, TVR has always had it's own area in Pistonheads, therefore anything related to TVR should be in this area. How the heck do we find TVR stuff if it is spread around under other headings.

A "TVR Events and Meets" forum kept within the TVR category would be good though, would separate it from the general chat and make it easier to see at a glance what was going on and where, and less chance of them getting swamped amongst the general chatter yes

As one of the event moved was mine, I'd like to ask for it to be moved back into the General TVR forum please.

I now have 36 cars out of 40 places, there is no way that that would have been achieved had the original posting been in the events forum. I for one NEVER look in there and spend 99% of my time on PH in either the Cerbera or General TVR forums, as that's where my interest lie, and I'm sure I'm not alone!

There are a lot of people who may want to attend a TVR only event, but wouldn't be interested in a general PH get together, and also may not even consider attending an 'event', but if, like miy event, someone might think 'oh, a TVR only track evening, haven't done anything like that before, I'll give it a go'

IMHO, moving TVR events to the general events forum it is not the best move.

Nothing yet out of the mods then, I feel sure they are holding us to ransom so the Pie budget can be increased in line with inflation. bandit
