just got off the phone with WH about my replacement front dampers. I have got the top policy with them and they said the absorber is not covered and the rest of the suspension system is.
Has anyone had this experience before? Did they pay out or not? It seems a bit expensive to pay for a policy that looking for every opportunities not to pay out

That's quite common... offside spring broke on my BM, warranty coughed up for that, but not for the other side. Conveniently for them, they ignore the fact that the failure and subsequent replacement of one component mandates the replacement of its mate on the other side of the car. Arse.
I've had a couple of things out of my WH warranty so far, with no problems getting them paid for.
WH are acknowledged as being complete SOBs to deal with though, although it could be argued that they're trying to make sure they don't get stiffed too.
We'll see when something major is required under warranty.

The other thing is that the warranty only covers the single part which fails and not any subsequent damage, so if your timing belt breaks and wrecks the engine, the warranty will pay out the 30 quid for the belt but not the untold hundreds for the rebuilt engine.
My personal experience of a WH policy is that if you get a good garage to deal with them then that makes things a lot better (thumbs up for the Offord Motor Company) although my claims were for relatively minor things (clutch and ignition stuff).

Diff goes on my 18 month old (15K mile)Cerby. Warranty holdings policy clearly covers the diff, the oil seals etc.
They won't commit to the cost of the repair until it is removed from the car and stripped for inspection at my risk. Garage tells them to strip it is impossible and involves breaking the casing open due to surface corrosion, wH said dont care, do it or we will not make a commitment to cover the diff. Wh also say an inspection is £120 and I need to pay for their visit.
Garage spends £180 stripping the differential and then WH say that failure of the diff was due to the 'deterioration' of the pinion oil seal and refuse to pay. End result is one Cerbera san diff, 1 smashed open diff and £300 cost of inspection and diff stripping! I would have been better off just paying for the bl**dy thing.
To cut a long story short, I wrote to the SMMT and their parent co and asked them to justify their rejection of this claim - and pointed out that 'deterioration' (meaning 'to become worse') was unfair as after all any mechanical problem could be deemed to have got worse. A week later I got a letter of apology and a cheque to cover the repair cost.

Forgot to mention the WH cowboys also rejected a claim for a fractured front alloy hub on my Cerby.
Said I must have hit a kerb at speed to have caused it! sent them a picture of the 18" rim showing not a single mark and asked how the drivers side wheel would come in to contact with a kerb at speed.
Yet again, if you disagree then you need to pay for an inspection @ £120. Engineer was on site for about 30 secs and said 'f*ck me that shouldn;t have happened'
Yet again, Letter of apology and a cheque to cover hub, fitting and inspection.
It has put me off buying another TVR.
Particularly when I heard about the S6 engine which went pop at 8K miles and they said it was wear and tear!

they said it is wear and tear. I have the TVRE policy and they said everything is covered bar the shocks!! it is a bit cheap for them to do it as we all pay good money for the bl@@dy warranty...and not without mentioning I have been to 3 independent garages to have that checked out and wasted almost 3 days on the phone and road..
where is the address for their parent company, might be worth a go with their MD.
BTW, anyone has taken up the TVRE policy?

I have used them in the past on my old chimp, didn't find them at all helpfull, the same attitude as all the above comments. Bought my cerbie from a BMW garage and got their used car warranty with the car which I have renewed this year. Also had the front shock failure (lhs) and they paid to replace both!! On top of that the policy was £150 cheaper than WH. Will try to keep this rolled over as long as possible.

did you go through your dealer for that? I was told by WH that they won't pay for more than £25 per hour labour which you will NOT find with any dealers as DH said to me.
How damaged was your wishbones and anti-roll bar? Did they send out their inspector to look at it?

It puts you off because you dont want to go through the hassle and worry of a £xxxK bill hanging round your neck ever again. The fact that TVR dealers only use WH is a major worry. I've had three TVR's now and have just ordered my fourth and I've had shit with warranty work on every bloody one of them. However I now have a reasonable relationship with my dealer (TMS) who get things sorted better than the other ones I've dealt with.
There is only one solution to this and that is to build up a good relationship with your dealer. The dealer is and IMO always should be, the one who can fight the warranty company best. If the dealer doesn't have the stomach for a fight then don't use him again.
Trouble comes when (like Benno) you go to a different dealer than the one who sold you the car. They then don't want to fight your corner because:
a) you didn't buy it from them.
and b) because Warranty Holdings only pay £25 an hour for labour when they (the dealer) charge you £50 or so. ie: they dont want warranty work in the first place, because they lose money on it!!!
It's a vicious circle and unfortunately does put people off TVR. However I have heard the same things said of Lotus, Ferrari and many others. It's not just TVR.
