Hi

Does anyone know the whereabouts of all the factory production records?
It would be appropriate if either the TVRCC or the TVR fans on here were given the responsibility of keeping these records in a safe archive, either paper form or on electronic files.

All the original factory build sheets from 1967 to 1987 were given to me in 1994 and I then gave them to the TVRCC model register of the day; the current registrar should still have these.

The factory retained the post-wedge records as far as I know. As I've not been on the TVRCC committee for a number of years, I don't know if any approach to the factory was made since then.

As usual Colin is 100% correct, and we have made approaches regarding more up to date information but no luck yet.....

Now would be the time to make an all-out attempt to get them before they are lost for good.

When i wrote to the factory in 2004 to get the build spec of my 1988 build 450 SEAC, the factory sent back my cheque and said the records for that year and also possibly others had been destroyed (by fire if I remember). If the records do still exist that would be excellent news.

The build year should be shown in the VIN

https://www.holtsauto.com/holts/news/read-cars-vin...

TVR then used the 11th digit for month A=Jan

The VIN plate tells you the Year and Month it was "spec'd" , that's the best you'll get... The spec sheets if available will have the same date ... pay Howard Byran (Blackpool Thunder) he may have a copy of the spec sheet.
