The Toyo Proxes are pretty comparable to the SO2PP but don't rely on them keeping you on the right side of the ragged edge until they are well-scrubbed in. The SO2PP tyre was constructed with a different compound compared to SO2 to improve performance in the wet (I don't think there was any difference in sidewall construction although the SO2PP has a useful rim-protector molded in to the sidewall that is not present on the SO2). I drove around 5000 miles on both SO2 and SO2PP and wasn't able to detect any difference between them under road driving conditions (avoid SO2 with a N designation since these were specifically developed for use with Porsche products).

SO2's are not SO2pps. A very diferent tyre. The SO2's are harder compound and hader wall and no good for TVR's. I fell foul of this one. Ended up getting rid of them whith tread to spare. Go for Toyo T1-R if you want the car to feel like it did on the old SO2pp's.

The S02 available are for used on S2000 different tyre carcass and no rim protector .
Originally designed for Porsche according to Bridgestone though used by many others. As I understand it the SO series was tested by TVR and the development of the pp compound resulted from that testing. The SO's were unstable in the wet so a softer compound tyre was developed.Gassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
