Morning all.

Received my Accumate Battery Charger yesterday, but it’s not working. The power light is on, but there appears to be no output. I’ve left it on over night, bit still no yellow or green light.

According to the instructions, if the power light is on, but no other lights, then the battery is too discharged and the Accumate will not charge. But the car is still starting, so that cannot be true.

I’ve checked the output with a meter, it is 0v, but maybe if the Accumate thinks the battery is duff, then there would be no output.

Anyone else had problems?

Yes. I had exactly the same problem as you. I knew my battery was good but my new accumate only showed the yellow light - for 4 days!

I returned it to Leven who sent me a replacement - this time the red charging light came on immediately.

Seems some of these units are a little dodgy.

Isn't the red light the power on light and the amber light the charging light (which turns green when done)? It is on mine anyhoo...

An alternative possibility - If you are connecting through the lighter socket the connection can sometimes be dodgy.
I tend to push down firmly and twist the plug into position to make a clean contact as occasionally it doesn't show a connection.

I was about to post the same.

Not using lighter socket, direct to battery and chasis, which i checked for continuity with meter. But i'm wondering if the chasis side is the problem as Leven say that they hardly ever have problems with this device. it's actually quite difficult to make a circuit in the cerbera engine bay, i was prodding about for ages with my meter!

Anyway, Leven are sending out another unit, will feel a right nob if it is my circuit!

I got an equivalent unit at Halfords (their own brand) for £17 and it's been just fine for 2 years.

I had my accumate hardwired into the boot & was concerned that the orange light remained on for 2 days...until it dawned on me that as long as I left the boot open (so that the wire to the plug socket was not compressed)...the green light would never come on.... !!!

Closed the boot..checked an hour later...Green!....I am sure nobody else would be quite so daft though....
