I have a three month old chim 450 and currently waiting for it to come back from a fortnights hols in the dealers workshops .... warranty work ..... tomorrow night....can't wait.

Anyway, once it gets to a year old and the warranty has expired, I want to use a local independent TVR specialist for servicing cos he charges less than the main dealers and I think he would take more care of the car. But, will it have any impact on what I would get for the car when I sell it or trade it in with a TVR main dealer at say three years old?

no it shouldn't, you can extend your warranty as well

You may find that a main dealer will not sell a s/h car without a full main dealer service history. This has been suggested to me.

But can I take an extended warranty and still use an independent for servicing?

Yes, there are independents that are approved by the warranty companies. I believe www.ravenautomotive.com are approved for example.
