must we all look so grumpy on the roads? Ive spotted 5 TVR's in the last 4 days on my travels in the sagaris, and as we passed in slow moving traffic Ive waved and given the thumbs up to all of them.

nothing.

not one acknowledgment.

Nada.

wot a grumpy bunch of s we appear to be. In my humble O if you cant share a passion you don't deserve to have one. whenever anyone acknowledges me or yells 'nice car mister' i always reciprocate. its easy. its nice. i like it.

must try harder TVR drivers of Essex, London, Suffolk and Norfolk of the last four days. especially the miserable in the white cerbera in Norwich this morning. were lucky to live in age when fast noisy cars are still allowed, lets at least try and look like were happy and grateful.

I went to work in the Griff yesterday.

On my way home, a T350 came the other way. I flashed and waved.

Nothing.

Don't you feel a cock when it's not reciprocated.

yes.

but something about the grumpy look on the drivers faces made it worse. like driving this noisy, fun thing was something they were too cool to visibly enjoy. the chap this morning who scowled passed me, nearly had me shaking him by the lapels and asking him why he bought a car that garned constant attention if he didnt want to be looked at.

does nothing for our public perception as a bunch of moaning miserable old s. for myself, i smile all the time when im driving the car. thats kinda what its for. to not do so is rather missing the point.

I got a friendly return wave from a guy in a Triumph TR4 yesterday on the M20, consider that also to be a proper British sportscar.
Did 150 miles from deepest Kent to Braintree and back, and not a single Tivver

I was in driving though the South of France recently, and a little orange Lotus Exige drove past. I gave a big thumbs up and flashed my lights, but there was no reaction. That could have been because my passenger was flipping him the bird at the same time and calling the driver queer, tho'. Which was ironic, actually, because my passenger was a total shirt-lifter. Wonder if it was someone he knew?

I saw a guy the other day trying to get out of his Elise, I had to chuckle as I struggle to get out of the Tiv, he gave a mutual grin and nod, he knew what I knew

It all depends where in the Country you are driving. I was driving my Sprint (not a TVR) in Northampton the other week and a bloke in a Westfield 7 flashed his lights in acknowledgement (presumably as another Lotus driver) so I turned around and followed him. He eventually stopped at Newport Pagnell services where I stabbed him to death with my battery charger - it took a while.

I always wave/flash (ooh err) at TVRs though, when I'm in my Sag, and I have to say the response is regional. Down South (where I live - well home county sort of stuff really) I'm lucky to get a nod. Ooop North I get the full on flash, nod and wave - wonder why.
