Looking for some advice, my Cerb was vandalised last week by some little tw*t trying to steal all the badges off the car using a screwdriver so they have made a nice mess of the bonnet, boot and a couple of scratches down the side as well. So there is an assessor coming to see the car on Monday and looking for some tips to deal with him.
The car is Rosso Pearl which is quite badly faded so the whole car will need to be resprayed, so I can just imagine the argument now with them saying that spraying the car is betterment and they'll only offer me 50% or some crap like that (I know this from past dealings with them last year).

So what are my rights, do they legaly only need to spray the damaged panels? I have a letter from RM as well stating that there is a problem with the paint and all repairs should be carried out with a full respray only so hopefully this will be enough.

Is Rosso pearl still available? I seem to recall that TVr stopped using it because of the fading issues?

Good luck with the insurance bod.

Yes it is on it's third version now, which supposedly has none of the fading or matching issues suffered by the previous mk2 version that I have currently.

I'd again, ring Gerbil. He is used to dealing with the insurance companies regarding paint issues.

and has gone into business with two or three other guys in blackpool to do just this kind of stuff so you could have Mr TVR Paint do the job for you and support a fledgling ex TVR employee's business into the bargain

I had the same problem and they tryed it on with me but they have to give you the car all the same colour and with Rosso its impossible to match if faded. TVR don't do Rosso anymore but Red Glow Pearl which is slightly darker and does not fade as much so I went for that.

They cannot give you a car two different shades of red, I got a full respray and just had to pay my excess.

Thanks for the info, so is giving the car back all the same colour actually written down anywhere as in an insurance ombudsman or something so I can have an official document to hand when they come to have a look?

You can still get Rosso Pearl allegedly and they have cured the problems with it, so was just going to go for that again as it is a stunning coulour.

I would have used Gerbil, however I am going to put my car down to Austec as I am going to get some engine work at the same time so it makes sense getting both done together.
