I was once driving my Chim 450 (now sold) and was giving it a reasonable amount of acceleration when suddenly an orange skyline appeared and just blasted away from me. My wife was with me in the car and so I couldnt go for it big time BUT he made me look like I was going backwards. I assume it must have been seriously tuned. OK he probably had the run on me as I was pulling away from lights and he was already moving but regardless.....

They don't have to be tuned... they are quick enough..my mate has one. I've got a 4litre Griff and this Nissan thing eats it..not sure how rapid your 4.5 is though.

I was joining the A31 at Guilford some years back in my first chimp (4L) when I noticed a pale yellow Volvo in the rear view mirror closing up on me. I knew it was some form of T5 estate, so I thought I should demonstrate what a 'proper' sports car will do. Not only did it sit happily on my arse whilst I accelerated up through 3rd & 4th to somewhere in excess of Her Majesty's speed limit, but it proceeded to gust past me with aplomb when I moved into the left hand lane... Watching it disappear into the distance and tucking into my humble pie, I noticed the T5 tag had been replaced by TWR.. wasn't it Tom Walkinshaw that built Volvo's Touring cars for them at that time?

Same thing happened to me in my Griff 4.0. First an Audi estate with Porsche bits slapped me then a Skyline.

Got myself a Cerbie and havent had a thing pass me since. TVR's are all quick but only the Cerb beats all comers. I even upset some poseur in a Diablo a while back. I'm sure the Tuscan S6 is quick though.
Sold the Cerb now and might try the Tamora, Drove one recently and it had power AND handling, if I could just accept that rear end.....

a few weeks ago in the damp I caught an Evo by being cheeky through a 3 > 2 filter. Could tell from its progress that it meant business. On the slower bends it pulled away, on the straighter bits the 500 was quicker. Perfect!

Mad cerbie owner from Belgium who doesn't find his cerbie fast enough. Although in the past some Porsche owners tried to get past my cerbie, they all found it very difficult to let my cerbie go in front. Once had lots of trouble with a Bugatti supersport and a Diablo, so I thought some changes were appropriated. For the moment, my cerbie 4.2 is looking for some extra vitamines. These are found in the object of a Vortech Blower. Predicted endresult: 490 - 500 bhp. This should do the job. This should be the first tuned cerbie in the world. Maybe the fastest one too. Inspite of all those who think it will be impossible to get all the power on the road, I will certainly try it and enjoy every minute of it! (You will be hearing from me very soon!)

Never had anything beat me in my Griff 500 but thats because I have a very small maggot. And never will especially when Mark Adams finished with it.

I agree Finson, sod the rear how about the front. It looks like a girls car, you know its bad when the missus sees it and goes "ahhh thats cute" get a Tuscan.

Finston and Quadcat1

I went to ride drive at Millbrook Proving ground this morning with Apache. had rides in Tuscan S and Tamora
and whether you like it or not the Tamora outhandled any TVR I have ever been in. Couple that with the latest S6 engine and it's easily the best handling and quickest TVR yet. I'm still not sure about the looks but go and have a go in one and you will realise how far TVR have come chassis wise. My closest comparison would be a Lotus Elise with a TVR engine in it!!!
I'm sure Apache will post his views later and he owns a Griff 500. He was as impressed as me.

Metalhead, before you fit a loud rattling Vortech blower (I speak from experience since I had one on a previous car) check out Z-Engineering. They produce an absolutely silent blower that produces also more hp than the Vortech one. I once was lucky enough to drive one of their project cars, a Lamborghini Diablo SV with TWIN superchargers....Awesome. The address is www.z-engineering.com

Guys,
to back up flash, I still think the tamora is missing the point in the looks department but it is without doubt the best thing I have ever been thrown around in. I am a confirmed V8 and Griff lover but can accept the limitations of a pushrod engine with a heavy flywheel and lots of inertia. The engine in the T spins up instantly and has oodles of torque, I imagine the thing is lighter than a Griff cos it is so agile and it is completely controllable and forgiving. The guy who took me round was a superb driver and Griff owner who was himself sceptical about the Tamora but after a couple of increasingly quicker laps had the thing sideways almost constantly. He was gobsmacked. You must try one before you knock it
