Good includes:-
Kids running through a park with thumbs up to cheer at my cerb.
3 girsl trying to get in the car at some traffic lights.
Bad include:-
In Chim in Reading being spat at.
In Chim in Wargrave someone throwing a lit cigarette into the car on purpose
Old lady having a go at me about the noise from my cerb (maybe that should be in good bit above!).

"Nice car mate!" from a bunch of kids sitting a wall as I pulled up at a set of traffic lights.
A scally in a chavwagon behind me trying to balance his cameraphone on the steering wheel of his modded pug to take a picture of my Cerb while driving.
Making a teenage girl yelp from 30 feet as I revved it up on Blackpool prom on "the sunday after" run

Driving though a very sleepy village in rural northern France; mate in front with his Chimaera 500, then a Peugeot 406 Coupe, then me in my 450. Walking down the high street was a family who clearly had never seen the like (obviously we weren't anywhere near Le Mans). The gaping-mouthed 'Martians-have-landed' look that greeted my mate from this family was a picture in itself, but their perfectly synchronised cartoon style double-take, eyes out on stalks, as I trundled past is an image I will never forget.
What's the French for 'They're just like buses...' again?

Another French story.....rumbling into Bayeuex last year in the Tuscan. Out the blue, Monsieur Le Plod
;leapt out in front of me, stopping the traffic. Oh merde thinks I.
I was sure I was below speed limit and so I was....all he wanted to know was what car it was, the size of the engine and the top speed. Luckily my schoolboy franglais answered his questions and the traffic jam behind seemed quite happy to while away the minutes listening to the Carbon Cans popping away.
There are times when I actually like the French. However, a month later, Monsieur Le Plod booked my wife in our Audi at 140kms (10k over)on an autoroute with Euro 40 fine...not worth getting out of bed to write the ticket for. Why do they bother?

Sitting in slow moving traffic exiting Baldock - four yobs in a knackered Rover slowly approach in the oncoming traffic, and flick a burning ciggy into my car!
Every other occasion has been smiles, thumbs up and pleasantries - especially the young lass who said "nice car big boy" (she was half my age). Made my year!

Last year we were at Zolder, on the Saturday there is a Treasure Hunt, we got completely lost.
Eventually decided to head back to the hotel, the direct route taking us (just) into Germany.
At the border, we were pulled aside by several uniformed German border guards, complete with guns.
Oh dear* we thought! We were directed into a bay and several of the guards clustered around the car.
They indicated for me to get out and open the bonnet
Thought we were in for a complete search.
My two years of German at school didn't stretch to "I'm terribly sorry Occifer but I am unable to open the bonnet"
Fortunately I was able to show them that the bonnet was bolted down and they realised what I meant.
All smiles they waved us on, having had a good look around the car!

Had a few good enjoyable interludes in my chim (sold it now and have T350).
I had gone to get my hair cut in my local town nice summers day,so the hood is down, when I come out there's a group of 5 school boys(11-14) looking into the car,I stood back for a little while and listened,
BOY 1 "it's a FERRARI"
BOY2 "No it's a TR7" and so the banter went on.
What did impressed me more about the lads was when I did open it up and talk to them there was genuine intrest, more so when I told them it was British.Needless to say once I started it up and blipped the throttle they all clapped .
NOT MANY CARS REALLY HAVE THAT EFFECT ON KIDS or infact their dads unknown to me two of them had been watching what was going on even came over to say thanks for taking the time to talk to the kids.
I've been very luck and up to now not had any bad experiences---touch wood
So I guess that was my high light, had numerous other ones but tha sticks in my mind.

Gettin a crowd around my Griff parked on the marina at Monaco, when fezers porkers an a viper were all largly ignored, and on the same trip being celebrity snapped by all the Jap tourists outside the Casino,
Kids in Blackpool shouting "give it a rev mister"...... "again"........ "again" till the lights changed

The vast majority of reactions to the Tuscan have all been positive. Love watching jaws drop as I burble past. Nearly ran some young chav over as he leapt out in front of the car to take a picture on his phone. Had to change my pants when I got home.
Thanks Chalky, you reminded me - I'd forgotten about the group of young lads who blocked the road as I left the Golf and Country club @ Garstang on the "the sunday after" so that they could take pictures on their phones. I obliged and revved it a couple of times before treating them to a wheelspin pull away. I'm probably not welcome at that said club any more
Yesterday just driving through town one lad shouted "rev to the limiter mate, go on!".
Another guy on the motorway, big grin and thumbs up plus numerous noses against windows from the backs of various cars.
With the last Griff:
Accosted at a petrol station in the middle of spain by 4 lads "how much, how old, how fast?" and they sat there for 5 mins until I'd paid to hear it start up.
Guy on the Paris ring road in rush hour traffic "what engine?" ... "V8 ... sanc(?) litres" .... "oh, sacre blu! tres bon
"
On Burriana Beach in Nerja at about 2am sat at a beach bar with Vicki and a few local lads walk past and spot the Griff .. "eh, la coche, Grand Bretange" looks around "who's car please?" plus "how much, how old, how fast?" Nice lads and when they went on their way about 2 or 3 english guys in the bar - "bet they've never seen owt like that down here mate - good on yer!"
And THAT is what I missed with the 911.

I was sitting in the Griff at a roundabout, turning right. BMW approaching from my left, indicating to turn into the road I'm coming out of. So I waited - as you do - until I was 100% certain he was making the turn before I started to move (his front wheels were pointing left, he was travelling left). Just got it in gear when the BMW driver saw me. His jaw dropped and he nearly took the side out of my car because the surprise made him run wide on his turn.
Or maybe the most memorable was the old lady we encountered near Bournemouth. We were in the Cerb and had to cross a pavement to get out of a car park. We stopped to let an old lady cross, but she waved us on and told us we had a "sexy car".

Coming home from Goodwood FOS last year just, behind a Griff that was far noisier than my Chim, a Mondeo insisted on sitting on my bumper til I pulled over. He then went past and dropped back into the inside lane - what a prat I thought, until his arm came out the window and he waved me back past.
I had to oblige and he then followed me for about 5 miles until he turned off.
God knows what he would have done if it was V8Cerberas car!

On holiday in Ireland the TVR got mobbed most places we went - this was back when Chimaeras were new.
Did a mountain road in Kerry somewhere and grounded it. So at the next garage refuelling (Nissan place) I looked under the car.
The mechanics (senior guy and two or three helpers) rush over. "Do ye need any help, there."
No I'm OK.
"Well. But would ye mind openin the bonnet."
No problem. Take a look.
"Jeez. Would you look at the size of dem manifolds..."
Senior guy then orders helpers to close bonnet carefully...
"How fast have ye been in it."
120mph
"How fast does it go."
165mph. Allegedly.
"Now would ye mind just moving over into the passenger seat."
Lovely lads.

Parked up in the local Waitrose car park one Saturday & realised I had no change, so happened to see the parking warden close by & approached him;
"Terribly sorry, but I need to go & get change for the machine. Please don't slap a ticket on me!"
"No problem, Sir. Which is yours?"
"The blue TVR"
"Well, in that case, don't worry. You can have this one on me. If you drive a Griff, you occasionally deserve a bit of free parking!"
