Ok, maybe that's stretching it a bit, but does anyone know where I may be able to get my mits on an ajp4.2? As long as its rebuildable that'll do.

Or even a block?

There was somebody on ebay who was selling a car (can't remember what it was off the top of my head) but he had bought an AJP engine for it but never got around to doing the converison...........was willing to split them. I have a look later to see if I can find the add again..........might have been a Lotus or something cos I remember him talking about rebuilding a Lotus Turbo lump.

Ah I see, still might we worth a cheeky bid though, you never know.

Otherwise they do seem to pop up on ebay from time to time. If you have a chance of a cheap project sans engine then I would go for it, you will find an engine soon enough I think. thumbup

It's all a case of weighing it up really.
My budget is £1500 over what I pay for the car for an engine...that would include all the bits to sort it as well. A mate and I will do the rebuilding so no labour costs.

It's just a case of seeing what sort of project pops up first, I would like a cerb, but can't guarantee it.

Just for a hoot I rang bell hill garage to see if they had any knackered lumps there, the answer was obviously no, but did say they would relieve me of £4000 for a reconditioned engine....I'm not saying that was prohibitively expensive but hence why I have to remain realistic really.

That's a bit sensible for me.... boxedin

Have a look on Major mods as Brummiewedge has a new Cerbera and the engine is coming out.
Just a thought.

Found the ad again but its abroad in Germany, sounds like its in pieces but here you go anyway, you'll have to read the whole ad but theres an engine in there somewhere that he's willing to sell seperatley -

Silver, TooTallPaul has a spare 4.5 sitting about... and so does Floating Jimi, though I think they'll both be well above budget unfortunately, though possibly the difference (upgrade to a 4.5) could effect resale by a grand or so to offset it?

It's a good thought BCA but I'll have to stick to budget really. I'll keep my feelers out.
Thanks. thumbup

The original engine apparently is fine apart from the main bearing....I have to confirm this, and in which case it'll be apart and rebuilt in a jiffy....but.....that's if the engine is where it should be as it was sent off for 'investigation' eek
