TVR Centre opens for business

Phoenix rises after management buy-out

TVR Centre
TVR Centre
TVR's biggest dealer, TVR Centre, is open for business. This follows the news in December that the company was placed into voluntary liquidation.

It's business as usual, said service manager Martin Russell and sales manager Mark Tann after a management buy out from original owner Giles Cooper. Russell and Tann said they were "looking to take the company forward with fresh enthusiasm and drive.

"The same dedicated team of technicians are on hand to sort out all your service requirements and Terry will be available for our parts enquiries."

TVR Centre will still sell cars and offer the usual sale or return facility should you wish to sell your car.

So what's changed? Tann said that he plans to stock a more varied stock of cars, ranging from earlier Griffs and Chimaeras to the latest models. "We will also be able to service customers' other makes of cars if they wish," said Russell.

The Centre will also be open longer -- on Saturdays until 1800 and, from March, it'll be open on Sundays from 1100 until 1600.

The TVR Centre will be holding various open days throughout the year with technicians on hand to do a free check over on customers' cars.

"As always customers are always welcome to visit just for a coffee and a chat," said Russell.

I'm no TVR owner but i don't have to be to understand that's great news for you guys. So glad you've not been left in the lurch, and it's hats off to TVR Centre.

They have far more scruples and integrity than Smellyenski ever did thumbup

Yes, I wish then luck, they have a tough job ahead of them, but lets not forget Giles Cooper. I've known Giles for about seven years, buying two TVR's from him, and he sold my T350C last month. I hope his luck improves and we see him back in market place stronger than ever.

I don't understand how this is good news, they aim to sell older cars purely because there are no more new ones getting built. Once all the newer stuff sells they will be left with older cars that no one will want because you can't get parts for them, it took me 6 dealers just to get roof seal for my chimaera. I don't think they will have a high enough turnover to survive unless they have other franchises which they will surely start to drift towards permanently. Having said that your very lucky to still have dealers in england, up here in jockland we don't have any.

Let's hope that Giles comes back to TVR soon. Marcos, although great in its own right, is not a TVR - and Giles, to me at least, is TVR.

Giles, hope you come back after the 23/2 announcements but wish you well regardless! I want to buy my next NEW TVR from Giles.
