TVR - Latest News
Discussion
Hope people dont mind me asking - there have been a bunch of threads talking about re-starting production / Blackpool Automotive being brought out / sold etc... I just wondered if there had been any updates with regards to TVR - and if there was any light under the tunnel. I have sort of lost it with all the threads going around (and confusing me is an easy thing to do! 8-)
any news anyone?
Thanks in advance,
Stuart.

Isn't NS still saying that production is to be moved abroad ? - I don't see how this can be if he's selling the TVR trademark for the UK, EU & US. Surely he's pulling out completely !
That looks to me like the entire thing is up for sale, so Smallendski look like hes finally admitted defeat on this particular venture!
Come on rich and well healed people, theres a fantastic oppertunity to show that Britain can be great again.
Put your collective thinking caps on (at a jaunty angle) and get your hands in your pockets....its time to show the world that Britain can be great again and show the workforce that someone actually cares a hoot

I am a complete TVR fan. I want TVR back. I think the whole TVR debacle is my fault, all the manufacturers I am a fan of seem to fold. I loved MG Rover because the workforce and engineers were doing a great job trying to swim against a tide of poor investment and shoddy management and they still brought out the MG ZT 260. Look what happened to them.
I love TVRs for the same reason. Outstanding products built buy a commited and passionate workforce. Now they have gone under.
I am also a huge fan of Lotus. I have my fingers crossed I haven't just jinxed them too.
What we need is a keen investor with deep pockets who is willing to produce a hand built TVR in the UK at a very small volume. Establish a quality product, build on a very enthusiastic fan base, then thinking about increasing volume.
My 2p.

YES! The Russian has finally given up the ghost and pissed off to the Continent. The Marques are included in the sale!!!!
Let's hope someone has the guts, the plan and the cash.
Fingers firmly crossed

Wow. It says trademarks inc.
Roll up roll up. This could be a bargain for someone!
Management buy in anybody? I'm up for it.
Unrep, PKF have no idea whether the trademarks are up for sale! Just because they think they are has absolutely no bearing on whether they are or not!
I cant believe nobody has quite grasped this yet! One thing is absolutely bloody certain, anybody who thinks they are is going to face an immediate and expensive legal battle with a certain Nic Smolenski! Unless of course legal proof is produced that is uncontestable and binding whch so far has not been forthcoming...and Ive got 2 ppl looking into this and neither have been able to confirm either way yet! PKF certainly havent!
Now I would love somebody to say either way so that interested parties know and can value accordingly but atm nobody has a clue as far as I know and if they do, they arent saying! So good luck to em.
Agree Unrep - clear as mud!
But as I see it, NS has two choices;
1. Burn more cash abroad on a £120k 'supercar' labelled TVR which no one will buy, or
2. cash in his chips, in the UK, including the only thing that's worth anything;
the TVR marque.
Wonder when reality will kick in?
We are still waiting for the Jan 17th press conf.
PS Were you aware my S6 has gone pop? Still debating what to do about it, but glad I hadn't spent £1.5k on a useless warranty!

I just find it hard to believe that he blows £30 mill and then walks away and leaves the only valuable asset to be auctioned off for a tiny fraction of that. Lets hope its true though.
Sorry to hear about your engine. Thats two you've had go? Sure it's not your driving style?

He hasn't walked away deliberately. He lost the name accidentally - a fitting end to his disastrous reign.
Anyone seen EVO yet? Big TVR article.

First one was about three weeks after I sold it to Londoner, who had gunned it down to the Smoke from Ecosse and put 1k on it in fortnight - nufink to do wiv me mate!
Second - about two hundred miles after the quiet little 'Ring/Spa trip....hmmmmmmm
