Just had a 12k service done by Shane at SFR, and can't recommend him enough, for anyone looking for a good indie in the North West
The guy certainly knows his stuff - as you'd expect being an ex-factory race engineer!!
Excellent service and very keen prices
Cheers Shane thumbup (hope your tea wasn't cold by the time you eventually got home!!)

Said it before' and i'll post it again , Shane is the fella we use when we want the job done right , he does'nt bullshit, and you wont generally find him posting on the forums.

A couple of senior ex TVR engineers i know, speak very highly of him ,that's what led us to use SFR in the first place.

Caution , he wont try and sell you the latest widget to add innumerable horsepower to your Tiv , he's outspoken and wears jeans which have not been in fashion since the late 1980's hehe.

However , if you want your car looked after by a works trained race engineer - epecially if you use the Tiv on track - and need to know that the bloody thing's going to Go , Corner and Stop like it should , then it's worth giving him a ring.

Take it he'd be a top bloke to spend a few quid with checking out my newly accquired T350 then, making sure brakes, clutch, wheel alignment and all other basics are spot on from day one then?

On another note, is he not very fond of mods and (non-racing) guys trying to get extra horses then?

No problem with mods per se , in fact he did the 330mm AP front brakes on my Chim - Epic stopping power ! - and carries out engine mods etc.

Just wont take you're money if -in his experience - a proposed upgrade wont be of benefit which is fairy'nuff thumbup.

I'll second that - he seems very keen to talk people out of throwing money down the drain on 'fashionable' mods that don't offer significant gains
As Retrowheels has already said, he's straight talking - which is what you want IMO

Although no longer a TVR owner, I had my Chim 450 for nearly 3 years and Shane was a star from day 1 when he checked it out for me. I would, and have, recommended him to anyone.

Have to admit Shane is a good guy & I used him until I found Ian at Torque RVT aka Middlewich MOT. Do a search for him & you will see how highly he is regarded & why now I will not take my car (or my wifes) anywhere else.

Another SFR fan here - when (not if) I get another Griff, Shane'll be looking after it again.
Highly knowledgeable, tells it like it is - doesn't mess about, and knows stuff you'd only learn from building and more importantly from racing the things thumbup
