press article in local paper that "calls are being made to the government to probe the collapse of tvr. The department of trade and industry are going to be asked to investigate the legality of the owner Nikioai Smolenski's break up of the once proud sports car maker."

Makes for interesting reading

The move by Mrs Humble MP is backed by Union boss Andy Robertson

The question is did BA every own the IP and Brand, and if it did then did it receive market value for those assets? Was BA perviously called TVR Engineering or is it a spin off from TVR Eng?

That looks very encouraging. Lets hope the DTI do indeed investigate. As the article points out we, the taxpayers, are going to have to fork out for the redundancies and as a taxpayer I strongly object to having to do that whilst smolenski has fked off with the brand name.

oops sorry for the spelling mistake in the topic line should be mystery not misery but both fit!!! It will be interesting to see the outcome after all the little companies have been sorted into who belongs to who andhow much is each worth. Maybe thats why NS made the "offer" to pay the staff after it had gone into liquidation so that there wouldnt be an investigation

Typical MP reaction though.
How often do we see them sit on their arses until everything has gone t!ts up and THEN decide they'd better do something so save anybody asking awkward "what did you do about ..." questions.
A bit damned late for Mrs H. to get involved IMHO

Its the most appropriate spelling mistake ever but not as classic as the HA one hehe
