Can anyone help with 'preferred' TVR dealers who are not 'official'?

Any feedback on cars for sale, servicing etc?

For example I've seen Adrian Blyth's website and he has some mighty fine cars but does anyone have any experience of his vehicles?

Base din the Cambridge area but travelling to view cars is never a problem as I think you're unlikely to find the right one on your doorstep.

I bought my car from Adrian. No complaints and he's a very nice chap.

Mate of mine went to Adrian Blyths when looking for a Griff and he was impressed with what he had to offer. Unfortunately he went to another (non TVR) specialist sports car dealer based in Wimbledon and has had no end of problems with the car that he bought - wanted one with aircon, which is quite rare I understand (and it never works!)

I went to see Adrian when I was looking for my TVR. He was v helpful but didn't have what I was looking for (colour wise). I would definitly go and see him if I wanted to change (in fact I'm very tempted by one of his cars at the moment, even though I said I'd never sell mine).

In the end I got my S3c from Chiltern Classics nr Maidenhead which is local to me. He deals in classic sports cars and usually has a few TVRs. I checked mine over myself and took a chance (his warranty was expensive and he said he had a 'guy who checked and sorted' all his TVRs before he sold them). I have to say in over 18 months I've had no cause for concern. I since discovered that the 'guy who checks and sorts' for him is Steve at Thames Racing Services. I found this out when I got mine serviced and Steve thought he recognised it.

If you want his number I can dig it out for you.

I bought my Griff from Adrian... Top bloke. He was happy to spend time with me and answer my nervous and probably daft questions. He was also happy to let me test drive a 4.3 and a 500 back to back.

The Griff 500 I bought hasn't had any probs, and I have had a permanent grin ever since.

I bought my V8S from Adrian and he took my S1 in part-ex. A nice guy and very professional, with good after sales follow up - he gets my recommendation too.

I can recommend Offord Motor Co. they are brilliant and cheap service wise. Right near you in Cambridge too. They occasionally sell cars.

Thanks for all your comments. When TVR ownership comes my way (and not long now), AB could well be getting a visit – the warranty he'll offer will probably be the peace of mind I'll be after. One 67 Mustang to sell first though.
