Wedge or Griff?
Discussion
Good afternoon all,
Having sold my 97 4.0 Chimeara last year to fund house improvements and in the meantime misguidedly buying a R5 Turbo to re-live my youth ( or should that be yoof! ), I am going to return to the marque.
I am doing my homework on either late wedge 400 series SEs or griffs.
Can anyone offer a subjective comparision between the two?
Many thanks for your thoughts.

Depends whether you prefer your TVR to be LOUD and with a roof panel that can be stowed/removed in 20 seconds or not......

Subjective? definitely.
My TVR dream was inspired by a bright yellow 350i in full howl.
By the time I came to get my first TVR in 2003 I realised that they had moved on so much in styling that I plumped for arguably the best looking model they ever made, a Griffith 500 (in red).
A mint Wedge is still a great looking muscle car but for me the Griff has it on comfort, performance and styling. After a stint with Ferrari and Porsche I will hopefully fulfil my dream of a bright yellow TVR in the next few weeks ... another Griff 500 though

Hmmm, I quite fancy a SEAC myself!
But SEACs only seem to sell between 'friends' !! You hardly ever seem them advertised you just see a new thread pop up saying 'Guess what I've got......a SEAC!!'........i'm sure theres a secret club they've got these wedgers........funny handshakes and all that ....

I've had both and I have to say that the Griff is much quicker and better put together. However if I were looking at spending money on a top notch 400SE or a marginal Griff then I think I'd buy a wedge.
I opted for a wedge originally when looking to spend around 10K, the wedges for this price were very nice sorted cars whereas the Griffs were potentially money pits.
Yes a griff is quicker but the sensation of speed in a wedge at 70 is better and where can you legally do more than 70
Nothing sounds like a wedge when you give it some beans

You do see them crop up occasionally. You just have to keep your eye out. I don't actually know anyone with a SEAC, but I've nevertheless still had the opportunity to purchase 3 in the last couple of years. Just got to keep 'em peeled.
THREE ??!! Now thats just being greedy !! Thought they only made five or so the amount of times you see them for sale !! So, whats best then 420 /450 ??!! What colours have you had ??.........
